A/C Belt - Good Quality

This is the A/C belt for a 2005 Chevy Silverado 5.3L V8. I managed to find this to install from the top.It was a bit difficult to remove the old belt even with the tensioner fully loosened.I think if I had to do it all over again I would remove the crankshaft side first and lower it down to the engine side./c side. I installed it in reverse order and it was a lot easier. Quality wise it seems excellent. I had 70,000 miles on my original and it was starting to wear out and I was squeaking…

Pros
  • 4 Rib, 37.7" V-Ribbed Belt
Cons
  • Mostly OK, but...

Skeptical at first, but it worked!

Ordered for my 2003 Yukon 5.3L engine. I usually buy OEM from the dealer but decided to try this Goodyear belt. The package said it was for a Subaru when it arrived but the Revain website said it would fit my Yukon. It happened! This is for the AC belt, which is smaller than the main snake that powers everything else. I suspect this belt will also work as the main belt on a Subaru. main belt. The inside of the belt looks weird and I understand why it's called the Gatorback, but once installed…

Bought in March 2021 and already had broken ribs in July 2021

I was disappointed to find that the old Goodyear Gatorback belts had been discontinued when Continental she bought up time before. Presumably this is a new and improved replacement for the Gatorback. This belt is the AC belt for my 2003 Chevy Avalanche and after 4 months I'm already starting to see cracks. I need to see if they have any kind of guarantee, maybe I just got a bad one but if not I will choose another brand. I did a quick spot check on the main ribbed belt (same brand changed at…

Pros
  • New construction and compound improves durability for longer, smoother rides
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Only use alligators! (where available)

Gatorback belts are typically the highest quality on the market. One simple thing ensures they never squeak - they have no other material with a part number written on them. Most other belt manufacturers use a "less grippy" material than rubber for the part number label, and it will often beep when that part of the belt passes over the pulley. Used this on my Silverado 4.8L with a 2005 140A alternator. Replaced both belts, both tensioners and idler pulley in about 1/2 hour. Only two tools were…

Pros
  • Straight ribbed design widely recognized by professional repair shops.
Cons
  • Minor issues.

Easily replaceable AC belt

I used this product as the AC belt for a 5.3L Chevy Tahoe '07 Sized like the AC belt on a 5.3L car. Not to be confused with the main V-ribbed belt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C34KT2/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00. First you need to remove the main strap. Then put the 3/8" nut in the AC belt tensioner, pull, remove belt and replace. A very easy project for a beginner. Our local GM dealer wanted $35 for the belt (AC Delco) and $35 for the Work.I bought a Goodyear (best belt in my opinion)…

Pros
  • Provides height and shear strength
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
