Subpar Serpentine Belt

This belt was subpar for my automotive needs. Through trial and error, I found that it didn't last as long as others I have used in the past. The poly material seems to wear down quicker and the belt would start to slip. The only pro I can think of is that it was easy to install. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Poor durability, slips easily.

Goodyear 4040355 Gatorback V-Ribbed Belt

The Gatorback belt is an excellent choice when changing belts. I have used this type of belt many times on all types of vehicles. I highly recommend this type of belt. Always check the tensioner for wear. If you suspect it's bad, replace it now, not later.

Pros
  • Belt
Cons
  • Drill Pack

Congratulations, it's vehicle service time

The belts installed with no problems and eliminated some of the noise that comes from worn original belts. As Vincent said, check your idler pulley, but I'd advise replacing it when you change belts. You don't change them every day, usually every 60,000 miles or so. The particular belt I bought was for a 2005 Saab 9-2x, so it will fit a Subaru wrx 02-05 2.0 turbo. Hope this helps, have fun.

Pros
  • Spare parts
Cons
  • No power
