My Goffin's cockatoo destroyed this in about an hour. maybe less! I checked her an hour after hanging the item and it looks like it exploded at the bottom of her cage. I imagined she would enjoy it for that short time but it was too small and at this price point I wouldn't buy it again for my particular bird. This item would probably be better suited for cockatiels or small kennels :(

This gift is perfect for my Eclectus! Chewing is not too difficult for him, but at the same time he needs some time to chew. Although the beaks of Eclectus are not as strong as those of macaws or African greys. So I think it's better suited for eclectus, cockatiels and birds that don't have a strong beak. But it can still be given to your macaw, gray parrot or cockatoo if you want them to have something to chew on.

This toy is NOT big but my blue gold loves it. Hope it lasts 24 hours. I would classify it as a small toy. Measurements are correct if you count 15 inches from the top of the chain to the bottom of the toy. So half of that 15 inches is the chain. got picture? Small. Plastic square and wooden parts are small. The description is misleading. Too expensive for 24 hours of playtime, so I won't order again. This is definitely made for smaller birds.

Edit 10/06/2021: His number eight. Never get tired of it. I have two caiques and the big one loves it. Toddlers don't like to chew on wood and this toy will probably last 10,000 years in its cage. A big caique takes place every few months. He loves to chew on the dice and rubs on them every time he takes a bath. This prompted him to dye his feathers different colors. His chest is currently pink. Very stylish. I immediately ordered another one because it is almost like a necklace.

I love this because it makes my gray parrot a very happy bird! He loves to chew wood and this keeps him playing for hours. He loves it so much that when this one finally disappears I bought another one. Since 1998 I have had parrots of all sizes and cages for birds of all sizes. The quick connect MUST be larger as this toy is specifically designed for a large parrot, but there is a quick connect for a MEDIUM parrot. The jaws of the quick connect didn't match the bars of the macaw cage, but they fit well in the gray parrot's cage (a medium sized bird cage).
