G5 not for video editing

The G5 is great for gaming. I got this sound card for video editing and later decided that this card is not very suitable for video editing because the sound card amplifies the sound and if there are any flaws you might not notice them until it's too late. So I connected it to my regular computer for a better listening experience. If you do serious video editing I would go for the Focusrite Solo or Focusrite 2i2, it's a much better sound card and more accurate because although Focusrite is made

Great Mixamp alternative

Bought the SoundblasterX G5 because I needed an alternative to Astro Mixamp. I only play on PS4 and own the 2013 and Mixamp TR versions but wasn't happy with the sound quality. I'm not a fan of virtual surround sound, so I've never used this feature. I mainly used the Mixamp as an amplifier. I did some research on the G5 and bought it. It was very easy to set up and it works amazingly well. The overall volume is much higher than any mixamp, but the sound quality is much better. The G5 currently

Definitely better performance than my onboard MSI

I am using a Creative Sound BlasterX G5 with Sennheiser Game One 50 ohm headphones. These headphones are slightly higher impedance and also open backs so I had to turn up the volume/boost the audio a bit. My MSI motherboard has Realtek audio that just lacks amplification so I could never get the sound where I wanted it - 100% wasn't loud enough. The Creative Sound BlasterX G5 has given me enough volume boost where I can make my ears bleed when I want to with my headphones. I leave the volume at

The happy owner is here! in computer components

Installation was easy. The device is smaller than I expected. But! Don't be fooled by appearances. This bad boy brought a good improvement in sound quality (Previous version: Realtek High Definition Audio.). Low frequencies sound better and high frequencies shine. I am very happy with the purchase. The headphone amp is great. The high gain setting is too high for my headphones (Kingston HyperX Cloud). I also have my Creative GigaWorks T3 2.1 connected to line out. When I unplug the 3.5mm…

Very important update

I originally connected Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers directly to my Dell G7 gaming laptop. After the purchase I had a small dispute with the software. My experience with Windows 10 20H2. The G5 installed itself through Windows and then I installed the SB software (latest version) over it. It sounded pretty good, but then I realized I only had 24-bit 96kHz audio (not 192 as advertised). The driver no longer allowed and was from "Microsoft" so I uninstalled that driver and reinstalled SB…

Rollback from the much cheaper E1. Just. Wow.

I did a lot of research on this product. The DAC chip used is actually used in many good DACs. The amp on this one is quite powerful, which is nice. But for some reason, no matter what I did with all the settings, it never had the "presence" or E1 soundstage. I've tested it on all the albums I know best and of course it sounds very dull and almost dull. Actually that would be acceptable, I could maybe turn up the EQ settings. which is a bad compromise. But then the software for the Blaster…

THIS BAD BOY HAS A PUNCH

I bought this to pair with my Sennheiser HD700. I play many FPS games like COD 4, Battlefield, CSGO, PUBG, Overwatch etc just to name a few. I wanted something that could control my headset and let me hear my enemies clearly so I bought these. I was eyeing the Sennheiser GSX1000 and this one but didn't want to pay the extra $80 so clicked on it and have no regrets. Small and portable, with a lightweight gaming look (nothing Razerish). It's plug and play and I downloaded software to change the…

Does what it's supposed to do

The sound card on my laptop lacked functionality and a decent volume. I'm a musician and I needed adequate playback, especially when the signal was split with a Y-adaptor. When using the built-in device, unplugging the headphones further reduced the volume. This device really upped the output volume. So much so that with my laptop I sometimes had to turn the volume up to 100 to hear it and now I can't turn the volume up past 15 without my ears bleeding. So it works as an amplifier. What can I…
