Quick Install Towbar Fit

Fits a 1997 F150 4X4 (4.2) - installs perfectly in under 15 minutes. The screw holes are perfectly aligned and all necessary hardware is included. Arrived well packaged and shipped quickly by the seller. The quality of the welds looks good and is opaquely painted to the highest standard. I expect this clutch to last for years if not decades. Highly recommended. 5 Stars

Curt Manufacturing Class III Receiver

The hitch bolted to the frame with no problems and I learned how to remove the spare tire (required to install the hitch). If you don't have a hoist to lift during installation, we suggest you have a helper. The fit is tight so if you have a dented bumper it may not fit but looks good and I would buy again.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Almost OK

Sturdy construction

This clutch is a perfect fit. After removing the spare tire to make room for work, it only took 25 minutes to install. No problems and I didn't need any help even though my 10 year old son was there so he passed me the bolts and washers to speed things up a bit. I haven't hauled anything with it yet, but thanks to the quality construction and durable materials, I have no qualms about hauling anything that can be attached to it. Anyway, if I ever overload the truck, the truck will probably break

Good product; See instructions for details

Fits perfectly on my 2003 F-150 6.5ft bed, works well and looks good. You'll have to remove the spare tire to install it (you'll need room to turn a wrench), but the tire is easy to put in once the tow bar is installed. The torque specification is 110 ft-lbs for each of the six bolts, which may be difficult for some people. Pay particular attention to the orientation of the rectangular spacer plates - look at the drawings/diagrams in the installation leaflet (this is not explained in the…

Installs in less than 15 minutes

Ordered for a 2001 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew 4.9L 4x4. I was initially concerned about the fit because a few weeks earlier my dad had bought a kit (for another truck, from another company) that was advertised as 'straight fit, no drilling required' and he had to 4 Pierce holes 1/. 4 steel frames, PITA! He was working in the garage when I came in to install mine. I dropped the spare tire and installed the hitch (by hand tightening) in less than 5 minutes (I used a 3 foot 2x6 jack. The hitch is…

Well packaged, easy to install

I was delighted when this arrived on my doorstep in a sturdy (and still correct) box. I used to order clutches and they came in stacks of crumpled cardboard. Not this one! The hitch was well packaged and the screws and instructions were taped back. There were no dents or dents on the hitch. Installation on my 2003 Ford F150 was very easy. All I had to do was lower and remove the spare tire (just to have more room to work) and raise the hitch. All mounting points lined up perfectly with the…

I had to get a Jack - Coupler

There was no problem removing the spare tire. When I did it myself, I found that using a rope with a slipknot on one end and bolts on the other made the job easier. I encountered problems in two places. My old f150 from 2000 is partly to blame. A jack was required to install the trailer hitch. When I managed to align everything to climb into the bolt positions, the hitch itself couldn't climb to the frame, it hung. I had to use a jack on the hitch to push it up where I could insert the bolts…
