Easy installation, perfect fit.

Perfect fit for my 2010 Ford Sport Trac 30 min install. 6 bolts/nuts/gaskets only. The manual recommends a two person setup, but I made it easy with a scissor jack.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Good fit!: Couplings

Slightly scratched on delivery but all screws and washers included. I ride off-road so scratches don't matter. Good paintwork and overall processing 100% installation time less than 30 minutes everything as specified in the operating instructions at least 2 people for 2 hours Also the wire rope method is time-consuming and not that easy Ordered for my Ford Explorer 2007 XLT

Great clasp, difficult to assemble.

This is the fifth curt bolt on the hitch that I have installed. Nice fit and finish. Typical Curt explosion-proof design. One star removed for direction stating installation will take 30 minutes. Maybe if you have a lift and two big guys to help you. It took me 2.5 hours of miserable work. Not much space under the front end and a lot of stuff in the way. Fishing was agony. By far my hardest kurt setup.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Well made, high quality piece of steel.

I've had this on my truck for over two years. He persevered and showed a good performance. Installation was easy. I made it myself using a small piece of string to hold it in place. From what I remember it took less than an hour. The paint held up very well. There are a few scuffs and scratches from off-road riding but nothing to indicate a manufacturing defect. I didn't notice a drop in fuel efficiency or an increase in wind noise at highway speeds. If you need a front hitch, I wouldโ€ฆ

DON'T EVEN CLOSE for hitches

WILL NOT FIT 2001 Ford Explorer at all! I bought this in the hope that it would give me the ability to fit a winch and was strongly inclined to do so because it would also be "no-drill installation" but is absolutely impossible due to the factory body mounts even with drilling. I'll be returning this and hoping to find one that fits, even if I have to drill for it. Update: I removed the front bumper to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious. The holes do NOT match the holes in the frame and

You need solid mechanical skills to install everything.

Excellent clutch with the best bindings. But I felt more like a wizard than a wrench installing it. You will likely need a jack, a small needle-tipped vise, and needle-nosed pliers. Plus a few hours and a bit of luck. Study the attached diagram from Kurt. I suspect their engineers are still laughing as we try to make Mission Impossible (do as they say). To be honest Ford couldn't offer an easy installation even though all the holes are there. I used to catch bolts, this takes things to anotherโ€ฆ

Not suitable for 1995 Ford Explorer.

Revain says it will fit my 1995 Ford Explorer but according to Kurt's website (curtmfg.com) they don't make a front mount receiver that would fit my car. Apparently I should have checked their website first and avoided all the hassle of buying and then returning this item. The frame at the front of my Ford Explorer is about an inch narrower than this hitch, so it will be impossible to get it to work. The clutch inside is 32 5/8" and the frame is about 31 1/2". Also, there are no holes in theโ€ฆ
