Thank goodness there is a good youtube video to help with installation. The instructions were terrible! It took me about 2 hours to install it on our Lexus 330. You will need to remove about 9 pieces of trunk trim. You'll need crimps for wires (or a soldering iron like mine), a 12mm head, a 10mm socket, a mount for a compression plug.

The RX 350 already has a connector and requires you to plug it into the taillights and run the wire harness to the battery. All you need is a 4 wire trailer plug and the adapter you already have. I ended up just cutting everything out and plugging it into the adapter that's already in the car.

I've read reviews saying there was some difficulty and issues with cable length etc. I haven't experienced any of these. Everything you need was there and it worked great. I took my time and had all the necessary tools. It probably took me about 90 minutes to finish. I wouldn't say it was "the hardest part" as it was pretty easy. You have to watch what you're doing, but it's not a difficult task at all.

Paid a little more for a real T-piece and didn't save on an alternative product. The instructions for my 2008 Lexus RX350 were a bit lacking, but it connected very easily with just two additional unused connectors. As mentioned in other reviews, I removed too many panels to access the ports. Installed on a 2009 RX 350. Technically works but not properly. Something is wrong on the driver's side. The tail/brake light acts as a turn signal that fires about twice as fast as normal, and the amber position light that Lexus intended as a turn signal no longer works. With or without a trailer. Installs in 3 hours. The instructions that came with the belt were very skimpy. They stated that the white ground wire had to be screwed to the body of the car, but there was no white wire. The converter design and wiring have been updated, but the instructions are outdated. Finally, the white wire is built into the wiring harness, eliminating the need to bolt a wire to the body. I found a great video on youtube.com that has step by step instructions on how to fit a seat belt and I followed it.

The hardest part was pulling out all the rear plastic panels and bays. Once the connections were complete, the connections were fairly easy, except that there was no need to connect a ground wire as it was already grounded on the non-splice connections, which the instructions don't explain very well.
