This thing is good for computers and accessories

This little guy has replaced the unreliable adapter I had before and it's doing an amazing job. I no longer have to worry about Ethernet cables and USB adapters. I highly recommend purchasing and using this wireless adapter.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Long wait

Works with Linux! suitable for wireless access points

This product arrived very quickly after I ordered it. The main reason I ordered it was that I needed a wireless adapter that would work with Linux and I was not disappointed. I'm using openSUSE 11.2 and the adapter is recognized immediately without any additional software. The included antenna seems to give a much stronger signal than in the past with USB dongle adapters.

  • Impressive

This one finally worked

I have several Linksys wireless adapters, USB, PCI etc that I have never been able to set up with a Linksys wireless cable modem/router. This one worked fine. Find out. I had to reinstall once when it stopped working by (1) uninstalling the software, (2) removing the card, (3) reinstalling the software, (4) reinstalling the card. Installing the software seems like an important step at first.

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works with OpenSuse Linux 10.3 64-bit

I was pleasantly surprised at how difficult it is to set up and run wireless on Linux. Worse, if you opt for a quad-core processor (which I did) things get even more complicated. Linux is not to blame here; Manufacturers do not write drivers for Linux. To make matters worse, they (for the most part) refuse to disclose information about their hardware. If they did at least the latter, the community would be writing a driver for this card in no time. I have an Intel Quad Core, 500GB SATA drive on

Pros
  • Fast change
Cons
  • Almost never

Not very stable product

I bought this card because of its low price (compared to Linux) and installed it on an old Win98 SE PC. My internet connection is connected to my laptop via a Linksys 54G PC card and the old PC is connected to my laptop via a D-Link card (ah hoc network). Setup was relatively easy and I had no problems. However, sometimes serious problems would arise on my old computer when trying to connect. After Win98 booted up but couldn't see the D-Link card, I had to remove and reinsert the card to fix…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

Works with Ubuntu 10.04 Linux

I ordered a refurbished DWL-G510 for about $15. I use it with Intel Atom N330 motherboard and Ubuntu Linux. Card inserted and everything worked. No drivers need to be downloaded. Ubuntu recognized this automatically. It connects easily to my wired D-Link router 20 feet away. It's been running for about 20 minutes without disconnecting. I'm starting a bittorrent download as I type this. So far no problems or error messages. I gave this card 4 stars. I didn't give it 5 stars because it's only…

loses connection to computers and accessories

Very disappointing. Doesn't like talking to our D-Link wireless router; often disconnects and can't seem to reconnect. Our old D-Link wireless card works much better. Since it can work from time to time, I suspect it's a software or firmware issue.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Some difficulties
