I've been cutting 1/8" ABS sheet for over 20 years and have up to recently always used amana blades decided to try some alternatives. I bought this Diablo and a "plastic" Freud blade. Yes I know they were both made by Freud but Diablo was way cheaper than Freud and I decided to try both. Diablo worked great, I will buy another one.

Mmm, Diablo in Saw Blades, Parts & Accessories

Very sharp - I bought it specifically and only for cutting aluminium. I plan to spray it with WD40 when cutting. Ok, finally used. Wonderful. Super good cuts on 1/8" aluminum (6061). Used on a miter saw. I reamed the wd40 blade as it didn't really stay on the cut face, the saw basically just blew it off. They used this, to cut off a thicker piece, you might be more liberal with wd40. But my pieces are only 1" wide and 1/8" thick and this blade literally went through like butter.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

Speed is key! Best in Power Tool Parts & Accessories

Used for cutting aluminum DIN rail for work projects. Done perfectly. Just as good if not better than expected. I sprayed WD40 on it after about a dozen cuts that didn't seem to hurt, but I can't say it changed much. I am very happy with this blade as it suits my project very well. Some advice is to use it outdoors in a place where you don't mind aluminum shavings everywhere. If your material is asymmetrical I recommend flipping it as it will cut much more evenly on one side than the other…

Absolutely the right knife for cutting acrylic glass

This is the right tool (blade) for cutting acrylic glass. Initially, I tried using a special Bosch T102BF T-shank jigsaw blade that is made for acrylic, but the jigsaw blade was not designed for 1/2" thick acrylic. Arming my rigid-body table saw with this Diablo blade was so easy. Outside cut 1/2". It also cut well through my 1/4" and 1/8" stock (as shown in the photo). Advice I'll throw away: Using a blade guard when Cutting acrylic on a table saw helps control the ejection of plastic snow—the

Good blade, inaccurate product description

The listing of this product is incorrect. That being said, the blade I received fits me but not exactly what I expected. The seller must have more accurate photos and description of the item. This is what I have, 10" medium aluminum blade, 6000 rpm max. Contrasted with the listing which is described as a cutting blade for non-ferrous metals and plastics with a maximum speed of 7000 rpm. The angle of the hook, although not specifically stated on the packaging, also appears to be the same -5…

Much better than an aluminum grinding wheel!

Lowe's didn't have a 10" non-ferrous cutting blade, so I bought a metal grinding wheel instead. I made a bevel cut in a 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/8" thick aluminum corner. I used Tap Magic Aluminum Fluid on the edge of the wheel. I had to stop a few times with each cut, to add liquid and the aluminum melted all over the rim of the wheel. The cut wasn't clean. Part of the rim had melted. I had to put on quite a bit. In the end I gave up and ordered this knife. It came today and what is the…

Blade deformed after cutting a few hundred feet of acrylic

I bought this blade because I need to cut about 6,000 linear feet of cast acrylic for display cases and didn't want to use my expensive Forrest WWII for plastic. Initially, this blade cuts very cleanly, just like its slogan says; hot knife through butter. But after cutting 1/8" and 1/4" acrylic continuously for several hundred feet, the pieces began to rattle at the end of each cut. The back of the blade hits the piece as it comes out. I thought the blade was getting too hot so I stopped and…

I usually trust Freud, but this blade is disappointing

I use Freud blades almost exclusively, so I bought these for a project where I needed to put my foot on a 3/16 inch thick aluminum L-profile. I have a lot of experience cutting aluminum and plastic, so I have realistic expectations as to the quality of the cut I can expect. The first thing I noticed was that I was having a hard time keeping the material on the fence and then the resulting cut deteriorated rapidly along the length of the 3 foot duct. I examined the blade and found that all of…

You can cut aluminum, but can you cut it straight?

This is a good blade, but there is a learning curve when attempting to carve a T-slot out of 3060 aluminum with basic woodworking equipment. The main problem is to get a square and flat cut. I wasted a few yards of aluminum before I found a system that worked for me. Use the toughest saw you have. I first tried using a cheap 10" miter saw and couldn't get a square cut no matter what I tried. Eventually I gave up and just used a miter saw to break the extrusion down into rough sections which I…
