🔧 Dayco 89372 Belt Tensioner Review

I don't know about the others but if you don't try to break it they shouldn't break. So far, so good. I got rid of the rattle during overclocking on my Focus 08 ses 2dr.

Looks solid and durable. Easy install on Ford Focus 2006. Cost was an issue but so far so good. Has been working without problems for a few months.

I realized that when I buy a Dayco product I am buying quality. I should have heeded the warnings of others. Mine broke too. Luckily I had almost no belt but I had to use a pulley bolt to tighten it all the way. Not satisfied with the quality. cheap metal. Beware

This tensioner was on the car for about 10 months. I took the belt off and the tensioner broke right where you put the wrench to tighten it again. I was holding the key in one hand and trying to pull the belt off with the other when the tensioner snapped. Luckily my fingers weren't caught between the belt and pulley!

This product works exactly as described. For some odd reason, Revain told me it didn't fit my MazdaSpeed3, even though several other sites list it as the correct part number. I can assure you this part will fit and work great on the Speed3. My only concern is that the pulley is made out of cheap plastic while OEM parts and many other aftermarket alternatives use metal pulleys. Between the plastic pulley and its smaller/lighter design, I'm concerned about long-term reliability.
