The size does not fit a standard door.

round nozzle works as it should without any problems. The drill is not the right depth to go through a normal sized door. This means you have an off center inlet and outlet so the sight glass is crooked. This drill only goes halfway through the door before losing alignment. Don't risk it

Pros
  • inspires confidence
Cons
  • so far so good

Great for my steel door

I was skeptical at first because the teeth look very aggressive. I had to drill a steel door with foam. I was afraid that he would get caught on a sheet metal and tear it. However, this bit worked perfectly. I drilled a smaller pilot hole first because I wanted to get in the door from both sides. I used the bit at high speed with light pressure and the result was flawless.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Weight

Not deep enough to go through the door

This was recommended to work with a see through janitor. The drill was not deep enough to go through the door and it took several cycles of drilling, then draining, and drilling again to complete the job. Because of this, it was far more likely that the opening was not perfectly orthogonal to the door, resulting in the viewer not being properly positioned. I had to fiddle with the handle to get the mount to work properly. It's not the right tool for drilling a hole in a door to precisely fitโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Protection

It is what it is, a very specific tool

This is a circular saw with a center drill; You drill through a center sized pilot hole, then put it in a drill chuck and use a circular saw to cut a full diameter hole on both sides. I bought this with an optical door viewer so I went with a hollow door. I was very lucky of course, part of the saw cut perfectly matching holes both inside and out, but my pilot hole ended up in one of the inner braces so I had real guidance the whole way, like a circular saw cutting through three differentโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house

  • Some cons

Worked great. on Door Hardware & Locks

I had a steel styrofoam core door to which I fitted a solid brass Earl Diamond peephole (which I also recommend) which requires a 28mm hole. Works great, took about 3 minutes, wish the bit was a little longer. The first steel plate came up easily, but I didn't reach the back. Haven't managed to go the other way and line it up perfectly yet. So I had to take the drill bit out of the bit a bit more than I want to drill through the other side of the door with a small bit. I could then drill a hole

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • hard to say
