Gives old instruments new life.

It powers my 18 volt tools with 20 volt batteries well, but once installed it is very difficult to remove from the tool. I actually had to use a vise to compress the release knobs so I could separate the adapter from the tool. The adapter was in the tool for a few months so it might have something to do with that. Perhaps the more you use it, the easier it becomes.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Best Low Quality Battery and Charger

Glad to try this adapter. Used regularly in my shop. This is not a full-time tool. Maximum 1 hour a day. It's a little difficult to remove from the tool, but that's not a problem because it's better than dropping it. We have been very happy with the product for some time. The problem lies in the melting of electrical contacts at the point of contact with the tool. Complete crap now. Glad the tool didn't break.

Cheaper and better than Dewalt!

I ordered one of these to see if it was any good and to my surprise it's a lot better than the Dewalt version. The Dewalt adapter is very easy to detach from the 18v tool, you literally have to tap the tabs with a hammer to detach them. This versatile version is easy to slip on and off, so I ordered four more to usually just leave them on the tools and save $10 each over the Dewalt version.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No automatic

Doesn't work out of the box.

Bought two of these (sometime in February 2020) for my old DeWalt tools. Used immediately for a small project and it worked. Required to use the second for a May 2020 project. The second didn't work right out of the box. So in my experience there is a 50/50 chance that you will get a really useful product. Couldn't access the link to the seller to ask for an exchange. I will update if the issue is ever resolved. In the meantime, my advice is save money or find another product.

doesn't last! for spare parts and accessories for power tools

This machine sucks. Spend a little more money and get something that will last. Use this adapter twice (within 2 days) before burning the device. It is very difficult to insert a 20V battery into the adapter and even more difficult to remove it. When applying pressure in material that was difficult to cut (hardwood), the adapter stopped working. I tested the drill with existing 18 volt batteries and the drill worked fine. I also checked the battery for 20 volts, everything is fine. The only…

Works well and is inexpensive.

I have a DeWalt 18V drill with a bad battery and as everyone knows a new battery costs almost as much as a drill. I bought a DeWalt 20V platform and I really liked it so I wanted to burn the 18V drill until I saw sixtyfiveford's YouTube video. He told me all about these adapters that I had never heard of and since he had the links at the end of his video I decided to order this one and it works great! dispose! I have some Ryobi tools that I bought from the auction along with a bunch of junk and

Works and works well!

I don't have much experience with this device, but so far I like it. It seems every bit as good as the factory direct from DeWalt, plus it has the added use of a USB port to charge other things that I honestly haven't used yet. The only thing it doesn't have are extra plastic ribs on the sides to keep fools out so nobody's clinging to the 60 volt battery of an 'old school' 18 volt tool - so be careful. Do not do that. Otherwise this one is BETTER than the DeWalt model in many ways as the DeWalt

Better than the brand name

A while back I received an official $100 adapter kit from DeWalt to upgrade an old 18v kit I inherited. It works well but the adapter itself is difficult to remove and only one adapter is included but 2 batteries. I need a second adapter so I can use 2 drill bits at the same time (one for pre-drilling and one for screwing). I took a chance buying this adapter for the price as it was a bit cheaper than the branded adapter and has good reviews. Haven't used it long enough to confirm durability…
