Drain Plug looks and feels good. The shipping department is closed. The washing machine fell out of the box due to a lack of packaging material and insufficient tape on the box. At this price, that shouldn't happen.

Loved the idea of a magnet to keep the bolt from falling into the oil pan. But in the end it just made the installation more difficult. It continued to magnetize any metal around the drain plug and took five minutes to properly thread into the threads. Next time I'll use a standard screw.

My former body shop didn't replace the washer but instead decided to tighten the drain plug so much I needed a 1/2 inch ratchet and much trouble to lose her. Even after replacing the gasket, the plug leaked and the corners began to round. The OEM drain plug is tapered and mild steel, so rounding is a common problem. I like that the plug has a larger hex which makes it less likely to come loose when removed and the gasket is copper rather than rolled steel which makes removal easier should . It was well packaged and arrived the next day after ordering. Expensive maybe, but what is the value of an engine or how much are you willing to spend to take care of the basics to service your own car?
