I will never buy a screwdriver again

Now I have 3 of them. I would never buy another fixed size screwdriver instead of spare bits. This one is solid and strong. I've always been suspicious of ratchet screwdrivers, but this one never fails no matter how much it's used and abused. Like most DeWalt tools, it has excellent ergonomics and fits perfectly in the hand. I don't use the nib storage space in the pen, but this is a nice feature for those who might like it.

  • Very good price

Worst Dewalt product!

I'm not entirely sure how Dewalt came up with this non-standard product in every way. I have many other Dewalt products and love them but this is an exception. The ratchet is a joke, the bit holder doesn't hold bits, the detachable bar doesn't hold. Does not have the typical build quality of Dewalt products. It's not just a quality assurance issue, it's a fundamentally flawed design in my opinion. send back. And they ask to send it back even without paid RMA! what a waste!

How do I open this puzzle?

The packaging is crazy as everyone else is describing. 1) A screwdriver is required to open. The solution is to use scissors to cut the material between the tool and the screw. Then unscrew with your fingers. 2) The plastic wrap is actually inside the tool (the inner hex part that holds the bit). mine broke off The solution is to place this piece of metal, with the broken plastic inside, on the stove burner set on "high". Cook until the plastic starts to smell. Then remove the melted plastic…

High Quality Compact or Long Screwdriver

I use this screwdriver every day at work and love how the small handle fits in my tool bag. I can use the handle with regular bits when I need to get into tight spaces or use it with a long extension when I need reach. I mostly use it in the locked state because the ratchet has enough torque that it won't turn with loose bolts and quite a lot of twisting between the teeth. The only downside for me is that regular small bits are hard to remove without pliers, but I can often pull them out by…

Bit holder in handle not working

Bit holder in screwdriver is useless. Many do not accept bits, and some see them as loose, as if you pulled them out quickly or sideways, they would be scattered everywhere. I have yet to use the driver so I can't comment on that, but GOD if you can't design bit memory can you make a good ratchet driver? The packaging is awkward to open: loosen the small screw, then try prying the tabs toward the center, or use a tool between sections to pry them off. Intended as a fragile wall hanger, but you…

Bad design, not durable.

I would sink this rating but it depends on your use. I had 2, 1 in a tool box at home and 1 in a tool box at work. For easy home use, this could be perfect for you. My working screwdriver might have been a lemon, but it failed on several counts. Both screwdrivers cannot securely hold bits in the "bit storage". Place your bits in a pill box and attach to a regular ratchet screwdriver for an equivalent simulation of storage. The shank flexes slightly when you apply high feed to it on hard-to-set…

Great screwdriver that looks well made where it matters

Great screwdriver that looks well made where it matters. The bits are difficult to remove when used directly in a screwdriver without an extension. The storage end slides out and is made of cheap plastic. In what I have, all the parts eventually fit, but they won't stay safe. They slip out when you open the storage lid and then fall to the ground. The shipping plastic also has storage clips, so I started storing bits that wouldn't hold securely in the end cap of this storage rod. A bit…

* Screwdriver feels good in hand * Can be short.

Benefits:* Screwdriver feels good in your hand* Ability to shorten work is great for hard-to-reach places* Bits are held in place for use* Comes with a good set Starter bits supplied* The ratchet mechanism is nice and seems to have a good balance between the twist of the handle and the ratchet. Cons: * You really need a screwdriver to take it out of the box. What is this design?* The magnet in the shank is strong enough to hold the bit but doesn't help hold the screw in place.* Bit retention in

Good screwdriver but some parts need work

The screwdriver is easy to use and the ratchet system seems reliable. I really like the thin extension of this screwdriver compared to other multi-bit screwdrivers because it allows you to get into those hard-to-reach places. As mentioned in other reviews the bit holder space doesn't hold the bits very well and needs improvement from Dewalt. If they only increased the length of the plastic clips by 1/8 inch, the bit holders would work perfectly. I also have an issue with the ball bearing that…
