I don't know what the complaints were about - this coil replaced a Campbell-Hausfeld coil that fell apart after relatively little use and I only wish I had bought this coil in the first place. I lived with a $25 hose reel for years and finally settled on this Dewalt retractable reel. This is a durable two sleeve design that looks cool when loaded. I'm a big Dewalt fan, so this brightens up the garage. It took me about two hours to hang as I had to connect the ceiling joists with 2x4's to ensure a strong ceiling mount. You'll know if it's broken. I love Dewalt products in general, I have over 10 cordless tools from them and have never had a problem with them. After installing the hose reel, I pulled the hose out about 20 feet and it didn't go all the way back. I adjusted the tension twice. Every time it fires once, it's not fully wound up. I installed this by hanging it from my garage ceiling. I didn't like the orientation of the guide from the box, so I took the guide from my hand, rotated my hand and reattached the guide so the hose was hanging straight from the upper drum, rotating the drum so that the Der Inlet is on the side closest to the compressor.
