Hole saws work well. I like the quick release adapter but I don't like that it's welded on. I can't just take another hole saw and use the existing adapter. Also, I can't use hole saws on special mandrels or any other mandrel for that matter. I bought this set a few weeks ago after searching the internet for a suitable household saw. The set itself is great, I like that you can quickly remove the house saw. Cons: One of the 5/8 hole saws can't go all the way through due to the size of the mandrel. Because of this, you may need to use a hole saw on both sides to go through anything wider than about three inches. Also, there doesn't seem to be any extensions in the set. I've had crown sets for a while checked out and decided to spend a few bucks more on this Diablo set. It was worth it! The diablo set's teeth cut very quickly, I used a small Milwaukee M12 bit and had no problem cutting through my wood project, I'm sure the battery will really cut through with a larger 18v bit.
