98 F-150 4.6 Fits Hose

This worked for what I needed. It goes into the back of the intake manifold. The problem was getting the old one out and the new one in. Bad design by Ford.

Pros
  • Slim Design
Cons
  • Updates

Fits 1998 Ford F150 Lariat 5.4L

Perfect Fit. Must be pressed. Used on 1998 Ford F150 Lariat 5.4L. I used a 5/8 wrench around the bottom edge and pushed it in. Just make sure it's level and straight so you don't damage the intake manifold or pipe. Before and after Fig.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Perfect replacement part

This is the perfect replacement part for Ford. Pulling out the old pipe is a real headache. Note that they are unthreaded so cannot be twisted at all or they will break. I managed to break off the old pipe in the manifold, but I was able to unscrew the broken part with a pipe puller. Fitting a new one into my Ford E350 van was a job for two people. I sprayed the pipe and then held one end of the crowbar on the ledge while my assistant hit the other end with a hammer.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great part, no Ford tool required but you will have to make your own.

I have installed many of these and they have all worked great, no customer complaints. Distance. It's more than likely the original part snapped at the base of the air intake or at the elbow, either way I've always removed them. No need to try to get it out, never works, cut the pipe at the base of the inlet (leave about a quarter of an inch up), then start (with a small tap) banging one side, and move then completely opposite side of the pipe and do the same, from here I weld the two stamped…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Band
