It's too easy to move the min/max scales to new positions

Scale is easy to read in degrees Celsius; The Fahrenheit scale is very small. One resets the minimum and maximum hands by turning a white knob connected to a lever that can be used to push the minimum clockwise and the maximum counterclockwise. (Then you have to turn the knob so the lever is pointing down; otherwise, it will prevent the pointer from moving.) The black temperature gauge, which appears to be fairly accurate, depresses the min and max hands, so no battery is needed. .The first…

    Good idea but mediocre success

I was looking for a non-digital min/max thermometer that doesn't suit the style of most (mercury bars in a U shape that reset by pressing a Button). A common problem with U-shaped thermometers is that the mercury often doesn't support a solid stick, but instead breaks up into many small pieces that are no longer shed. This bimetal thermometer from HB Durac is completely different, but I have found that it sometimes does not show the low and high readings correctly. I've also found that the knob

    Pros
    • Model number: B61301-0300
    Cons
    • Expensive

This thermometer works great. I used my existing digital fridge/freezer thermometer to compare temperatures and it works accurately. There are a few things to watch out for. Do not apply excessive force to the levers when adjusting the upper/lower levers to the desired position, as doing so may move the main lever and damage the thermometer. Also, because Celsius is at the top of the curve and Fahrenheit is at the bottom of the curve, it's a bit difficult to see the Fahrenheit numbers when all…

    Pros
    • Note the maximum and minimum temperatures reached since the last reset.
    Cons
    • Some errors.

Great analog design but flimsy plastic material

I ordered this minimax thermometer to find out how hot and cold it is in my yurt and greenhouse as both are sensitive to respond to large temperature changes. I saw a friend with a thermometer very similar to this design and it seemed to be doing its job well so I decided to order a similar looking product. What I particularly like about this thermometer is its analogue design. No batteries to change or circuits to be damaged by water, frost, heat, etc. I actually had an expensive digital…
