I ordered this kit along with some rack mounting rails that I recently bought to hold a bunch of equipment together. They work great. I will be buying more of these in the future as I need more.

The nuts and bolts were plain steel, poor quality, with uneven threads on the bolts. Returned.Edit. Although I was initially sent the wrong item, I was contacted by customer service who quickly resolved the issue. The nuts are not anodized, but quality parts. The screws have a waxed black oxide finish and come with nice plastic washers that prevent scratching of the hardware.

This is what you can expect from a cage nut. The only downside is that they aren't long enough for what I like. I knew this was happening (based on what others have said in the reviews). It's still a pretty good deal for what you get. Nylon discs are comfortable to the touch. I probably won't buy it again because of the length. I may have half the flow in my Cisco router.

I bought two sets and they are exactly as in the description. Work with IBM-style square cases. I like the fact that the parts came in separate packages (nuts, bolts and washers). Someone mentioned that they are too short, but that doesn't apply to our stance. I suspect the thickness of the rack's holes and ears can make a difference. Will definitely buy more when this batch runs out.

If you buy cage nuts then you probably have non-trivial life experience with rack components from different vendors etc even have slight differences in the size of the holes or the stiffness of the little tabs that hold them in place etc Also, you've probably worked in a cabinet where the screws are too short (and you either have to forego washers, or try tightening some threads, etc.), or where the screws break easily, etc. I hope , They also worked with good cage nuts that come with washers…

Good set of mounting screws. I like the plastic cover but the screws need to be a bit longer. 2 mm more would have made the screw length perfect. If you use a plastic washer, it will be a bit short, you have to press hard to get it to enter the nut. The cage nuts are also flimsy and easily fall off the rack if squeezed while attempting to insert a bolt. At this price it should also include a cage nut assembly/insertion tool.
