Does. no Work. suitable for computers and accessories

As the title suggests, the product does not work. Point. Nothing left to say. You plug it in and Windows claims to have found an unknown device. Got this to try to use M-Audio Profire 2626 over USB. That was a bad decision in itself, but the same thing happens with any other FireWire device. For $5 you'd better buy some gummies. At least they are useful in the short term.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Quality

This is the most useless thing I've ever bought from Revain. I needed to connect a FireWire audio interface to my 2020 iMac, which doesn't have FireWire ports. Using this and a standard FireWire cable, I connected the interface, but the USB port LED didn't even light up. Try this with multiple ports/hubs. No matter where I plugged it in, the iMac disconnected all USB accessories and claimed that the device was drawing too much power. waste of money. Don't order that.

You should have listened to the others. THAT DOES NOT WORK!

So cheap I was willing to take the risk to do exactly what I wanted. Well it isn't. Not at all and completely useless. I was trying to hook up my Presonus mixer to my computer and figured this little contraption would help. Well I was wrong. Couldn't even find a mixer through this connection. Tried in 2.0 and 3.0 USB connections but to no avail. In the end I had to install a PCI-e FireWire card in the computer - luckily that worked! No, I cannot recommend this device for any reason. you have…

Doesn't work :-( Featured in Computers & Accessories

I've read the typical 'works great' versus 'doesn't work' reviews on Revain so who is to believe that The only way to find out is was to order an adapter and see for myself.Macbook Pro with USB-C (x4).Results: Nikon and LaCie devices work fine when connected to the Firewire port on my 17" MBP (I I have a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter but that doesn't matter) Both devices work without But to connect the same devices to my new MBP I bought this adapter HOPEING it would work (I already had a USB)…

Ruined my Sony camera's FireWire port!

This adapter ruined my camera's FireWire port. Do not buy this product if you don't want to ruin your devices. Basically, my FireWire port worked fine when connected to my very old Dell computer (with a FireWire port). I wanted to get creative and connect it to a newer PC/iMac PRO. After using this, my firewire port on the camera stopped working. At first I thought it just wouldn't work. So when I went back to the original configuration (camera on old PC), it no longer recognized that the…

Pros
  • Simply connect your peripheral's FireWire cable to this adapter, and then connect the adapter to your computer's USB upstream port.

May not connect

I was trying to use this to connect a very old hard drive to a slightly older Mac laptop, but encountered the error shown in the attached image. I clicked close; The external drive was never mounted, even with Disk Utility and Terminal Tactics. The adapter itself seems fine. Plug and port match well with corresponding connectors. I've also tried using this adapter along with a USB-C adapter to connect this old external hard drive to the latest Mac Powerbook, but it doesn't even give an error…

Pros
  • USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatible

  • Boring packaging

Does not work with Firewire adapters

Like many others before me, I can confirm that this product does not work. I had to listen and save my time and money. But no. I had to find out for myself. I was trying to connect an external hard drive that originally worked with the PCMCIA Firewire card slot in my old laptop. Of course, my new laptop and desktop don't have a PCMCIA slot or FireWire ports, so I gave it a try. I'm computer savvy enough to build my own desktop computer from parts and I have multiple degrees in the field. But…
