I tried it but works as described. I bought this for my SHTF package. I didn't want the batteries to be needed in an emergency. I don't know durability, time will tell. There's just enough light, not super bright, but enough to light the way. Actually, the radio works fine. For the price I think it's worth buying.

Here on the east coast storms are getting stronger, or I call what I call a home of hurricanes. Having or not having a weather radio with a built-in solar panel and a crank phone charger isn't a problem, and that's a good thing, because life in the wake of hurricanes seems mindless. In any case, power outages are common and it's good to have weather information on hand. I would buy this again.

It's small compared to what I thought (maybe the size of two computer mice face to face), the flashlight isn't that bright , as it could be if not for something as feature rich and energy efficient, self sufficient and able to charge your phone, a great buy! Wanted to get radio to listen to NPR, currently listen to RTJ from local college radio. I am very happy that I can run it manually and get solar power for it.

I bought this because I needed a weather radio for hiking but I found it useful and fun to have around the house too. It has great sound for such a small speaker. It's compact and easy to hold, has a flashlight and AM/FM/weather radio. I can put it in the sun and use it to charge my phone or Kindle. It also charges my devices indoors for a while, but charges longer when the solar panel is in the sun. I think it's good that the handle recharges the battery in an emergency. The crank was stronger

I bought this little guy just before the terrible weather came. Luckily I saved the electricity and didn't have to use it but I am totally blown away by the quality of this radio for the money I paid. It's actually solid and has a compartment on the bottom so you can remove the battery and solder on a spare when the time comes. The light isn't very bright if you're used to 18650 flashlights, but it will keep you from messing around in the dark. The radio picks up stations on all bands perfectly

This little radio is the most convenient thing in the world. I wanted a radio that I could rely on in bad weather, power outages and, as the saying goes, STF. I wanted the one that offered all three radio bands and this one has it. The AM stations didn't work very well which was a bit disappointing but I hope I don't have to rely solely on them.
