Does what I wanted: No adapter needed anymore

Now I don't have to worry about finding my adapter or leaving it somewhere. This applies to all my followers. The factory's revolving door eventually broke, so this was a great opportunity. I found this at Revain for less than half the price of auto dealerships. As others have said, it doesn't fit as securely as the factory part, but overall I'm very happy with it.

But he comes and "locks in ". It just rotates a bit in the frame.

fits/attaches as tightly as a standard GM end cap. But she comes and "locks in". it rotates only slightly in the frame. It's nice to have both a 7 pin round and a 4 pin trailer light connector. I use 7 pin for RV and car trailers, my sister uses 4 pin for boats. Convenient to have both plugs and not mess around with adapters

Suitable as OE towing products and winches

Simply remove the old connector, gently press the tab on the front of the old 7-pin connector's retainer and twist to remove. Insert the new one and twist it in the opposite direction until it clicks into place. I used the lube that came with the kit, lubricated the pins and replaced the plug with the back of the new fork. Works great, nice not having to use a separate adapter from 7 to 4. It was $20 cheaper than a local tractor supplier for the same item, which isn't always the case on this…

Best of both worlds

I bought a used Chevy Silverado. From the factory, the truck only came with a 7-blade fork. There were times when I was helping people and using other pendants and I needed a flat 4 pin connector. Now I'm not worried. I have the best of both worlds. 7 blades or flat 4 pins I'm done. The best part is that it connects perfectly directly to the factory wiring harness. As a bonus, I can also use this connector to connect a reversing light for my trailer, which is very helpful when trying to park it

Received 40920 and very happy with the design

Bought 40920 to replace 40955, 40955 has a very weak door hinge and it broke on me on a trip and I had to attach the trailer tie cb;e to it TRUCK! Got it 40920 and am very happy with the design! The door hinge is secured! Installed on a 2012 Silverado2500HD and YES it just pivoted into position but was a bit loose. I used some rubber strips and attached them to the mounting lug and it helped a few. The only negative thing I can say is the looseness of the final installation. Removing 40955 and…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Not trendy

I like it a lot, now I don't have to carry that stupid adapter with me anymore. I only have a trailer with a 4-pin flat plug and always had to keep the adapter in the glove compartment. I'm glad I can finally get rid of it and simplify what I have to carry around. The quality seems good and it was 33% cheaper to buy from Revain than your local auto parts store. I also like that the cap for the 7 pin connector opens very high so it's easy to see when I need to plug this adapter in. The cover of…
