I was having trouble with the hand pump on my mountain bike, a throbbing sensation that was causing discomfort. Many pens have all sorts of patterns and padding/pillow counts. I like the sticky, soft feel and shape of these grips. With these handlebars I feel the safest on the bike. That puts me in a naturally good driving position. The only drawback is that there is actually no protection for the handlebar ends. In an accident, they tear quickly, which makes them ugly. The black set pictured is my old standard thickness set.
