I have ordered two. One worked. one not.

Love the size and the hidden cord. I like that one cable is enough to power the device. I ordered one for my sister when I was setting up a computer for her. It worked and I liked it so much that I ordered one for myself to replace my old and large DVD drive. But the new one didn't work. I think it's okay to occasionally get products that are DOA. Nice that the return is easy.

Great value for money - easy to carry and works as expected

Good player at a very good price. Does what it claims to do. A short cable is included and can be 'hidden' at the bottom of the player, making it very portable and you won't lose the cable. The box says "DVD-RW" but it reads DVD+R discs that I previously burned. I haven't tested DVD burning as I won't be storing anything on optical media anymore. I only use this machine to transfer all my previously archived data to hard drive as well as old DVD movies. Optical media is outdated and my new…

Avoid at all costs!

Huge problems with this drive. When tested on a 2008 Macbook it found that it wasn't supplying enough power (and oddly disabled all other connected USB devices). When I plugged it directly into the motherboard of two separate PCs, they both had an instant shutdown. On my first system I didn't get a warning, but when I rebooted a second computer with the drive still attached, it refused to boot into the BIOS and said it was "using surge protectors to prevent motherboard damage". Not worth the money, pure junk

So I bought this for my class, for our spiritual days, to watch movies. This thing twitches and twitches and jumps more than any other DVD unit I've ever owned. Not only that, I had to download a separate DVD viewer. They said it was already a DVD player but I had to download a second program. Eventually it randomly freezes to the point where I have to restart the laptop. I ran a full diagnostic on my laptop and it's no problem. Not worth the money.

Very good but dubious cable management

Works very well The device was recognized by the BIOS. I was able to boot from it and install Windows 10 with no problems. Storing the cable is a great idea, but removing the cable to plug it in requires quite a bit of flexing to get the device to lie flat. Over time this will lead to cable fatigue and internal breakage. I deducted a star for the weak cable tension. This won't be a problem for me as I rarely use an optical drive, but it will be a problem for heavy users.

It's sleek, made of plastic, and is slowly reading and writing to outdated media.

An external DVDRW drive is not a very glamorous purchase. This little device is a stylish take on the drab and fading removable/rewritable media genre. I recently upgraded my computer case to a Corsiar 570x. Beautiful and totally not my type of case purchase. I found it fun and interesting.
