From the worst of conditions

My truck, like most (all?) these days, has a spare tire under the rear body. The steel wire that lowers the bar is too short to remove the bar from the bracket with only two hands; impossible in the rain, snow or mud. With this inexpensive device, I was able to move the spare wheel to the side of the truck body right next to the driver's cab. The perfect place for a hoop even when the weather and daylight aren't good.

Good quality and great price

I needed a temporary solution to fit a replacement for my trailer and snagged the first one I could find in my price range. It arrived quickly and I was pleased with the quality of this simple mount. The main bracket is made from a thick sheet of aluminum - more than strong enough to hold the tire. It also comes with 2 different length carriage bolts to ensure the best fit with the tire fitted. There is so much mediocre quality out there so I just wanted to let everyone know that this item is…

Plan to improvise when purchasing this mount. Worth it.

The mount is exactly what I was hoping for. However, there are design issues related to bolts and screws. The screws are very weak. I used stronger screws. Carriage bolts and bracket have a problem. The square in the head of the screws is longer than the thickness of the bracket. This makes it impossible to tighten the screw on the bracket. I got around this by placing a washer large enough to fit the square between the screw head and the bracket. This worked great and solved the problem of…

  • Doubtful

Well, in general, I like the product. But I don't think the four small screws they sent about an inch long will actually support the weight of a 50 pound tire and rim screwed into the plywood side of a trailer for a very long period of time, that is just my opinion as a welder. who builds trailers and works as a carpenter. But two bolts in that 3/4" plywood and backing plates. As well as the two bolts, they obviously did their job well too, the spare tires hanging off the right side of the…
