The perking is decent, but the heating element isn't good.

This makes great coffee, but as numerous reviewers in this test have pointed out, the heating element is prone to breakage. In my case, it burned out 6 months after purchase, becoming a useless piece of stainless steel. I calculated that at 180 perks it costs 21 cents per perk to go from great to junk. So if you have intentions of purchasing this item, throw in a few bucks for a third-party warranty. Or buy another brand whose heating element is not made in China. Incidentally, our 1968…

security threat! in the kitchen and dining room

My family has had large and small Faberware coffee machines for many years. I bought a small 4 cup model for my dad less than two years ago. He uses it once a day in the morning. He takes good care of her (as well as everything else). Yesterday I noticed a dull spot in the base plastic and a small hole in the material. The hole exposed some kind of internal metal. I told my father to stop using the coffee pot immediately as I feared severe burns or even electric shock. I don't know if the…

WAS a good product

We bought it for my eighty year old mother-in-law. It didn't work right away so we contacted Farberware and they sent a new unit. I checked it before filing it with the MIL and the 3-pin connector doesn't fit the base of the device. Male and female side molding is not compatible. The plug housing on the coffee maker itself has two molded guides, but the cable itself wasn't made with cutouts to accommodate two. I contacted them again and they wanted to send me another cable but I told them I was

Farberware is DOWNLOADING its stainless steel percolator!

This is my second Farberware 2-4 cup coffee maker. I bought my first one 3 years ago and loved it! Unfortunately I recently forgot to fill it up with water and plug it in and that was it. I just had to have another one and have I ever been thrilled that Revain still sells the same coffee maker! I couldn't wait to get it! When it arrived I immediately noticed that the stainless steel was lighter than my first percolator. Not just the pot, but the details inside that make it work! The lid didn't…

Very different from Farberware as far as I can remember

I am beyond disappointed with this product as I have had many Farberware coffee pots in the past and loved them. I originally ordered the pot on January 1st and was excited to receive it. Unfortunately, the cable smoked after plugging it in and the bottom of the pan smelled strongly of burnt plastic. I immediately sent the pot back and ordered another one. (I'm a punishment eater.) I got a second pot yesterday only to smell the exact same burning smell when the pot was plugged in. I note that…

Faberware: a shadow of my former self

I'm actually late with this review. I gave up on this pan a few years ago. I just forgot to check, probably because I wanted to erase the memory of paying for one of them. I bought this to replace one I had for about 3 DECADES. It made great coffee, so I had the audacity to think a new one would be just as good. I was wrong. Finally, I firmly believe that if you want a product ruined, wait until Black and Decker buys the rights and starts manufacturing. The new pot was complete crap. The…

This is a great little coffee pot

Like many others, I was in search of a good cup of coffee. While K-Cups were quick and easy, they just didn't taste good. For a while I went to a French Press, which actually makes a good cup of coffee. On weekday mornings, this can be quite a daunting process. Then another coffee lover at work said he went old school and bought a coffee maker. Crazy, I thought, but found myself on Revane looking for them. I found this little percolator pot and decided to give it a try. There have been some…
