Broke after a week. The door could not be opened to exit the trailer. A piece of "metal" pushing the bolt broke off the handle. Note the terrible quality of ceramic metal in my photos. I probably should have tried to restore the original part that lasted 7 years. The bolt handle on it broke, but at least it still worked.

It worked great and was easy to install. I was skeptical of the reviews for RV trailer door handle replacement including this one. It was the closest thing I had to what I had on my 2005 Wildwood, so I went with it. It works as well or better than the original. I have no negative remarks.

Took a chance with all the bad reviews about the latch sticking or the key snapping off. Of course, but thank God I haven't closed the door yet. The bolt was stuck and the key could not be removed. I didn't go as far as breaking the key, but it bent as far as it could. I ended up removing the key and it wouldn't go back in. The keys are very thin. That's a bad design flaw!

I bought this to replace the same manufacturer cap that came with my motorhome in 2009 just because I wanted a quick and easy replacement for a broken original. and one key fits many motorhomes. Unless I needed a quick replacement I would definitely check out other door latch assemblies looking for a stronger one with better security locks.

Looks better than the pictures. Durable chrome. Looks way better in my travel trailer than the black it replaced. Ease of installation. I only have one complaint, but it's not the fault of the product or the seller - it's difficult to make copies of the fob keys, and two isn't enough. If you bring these keys to a locksmith, they cannot make copies for you. This is a common occurrence with the Keyes trailer.

Well that's disappointing. I don't see any way to contact the company to let them know about this. So I'll tell you here. It broke. He stopped working. The little red plastic lock started shaking a month ago and stopped working last week. Here is the locking bolt. The door will still be locked, but it is now impossible to open the bolt. I sort of rented it for 8 a month plus the cost of installing it. I'm not thrilled.

This is a very strong lock that can be installed with just a Phillips head screwdriver. Just be sure to set the latch properly and make sure the handle is closed. Looks good too. Update: After 3 weeks of use, the latch is not working properly. It is loose and the key slot is broken. The key is very difficult to insert and must be positioned accurately to turn the latch. Well, nothing special. The lock on my trailer is broken and I live full time. A replacement was therefore needed which was sent to me asap. Ordered, received within 48 hours, excellent. ---But then I looked at what was sent and it turned out that the part was broken (the latch lever was broken). Update: It is now June 19th 2018, six months later and the lock has failed. Putting the rest of the key in the mortise lock does not allow, I had to open the fob from the rear doors to get in to remove the lock to open the side door. Upon inspection, the lock appears to be stuck, unable to insert the key into the lock and/or lever the deadbolt from the inside. First a tip, measure twice, order once. Make sure you order the correct pen. I almost ordered one here that looked exactly like my old one, same company and stuff. I went out and measured again and it was an inch too small. DO NOT just look at the looks and be disappointed. measure and check. With that said, this is a great replacement.
