Keeps Ceramics Clean

I bought the Fluval C-3 because I liked the look and the ease of cleaning/replacing the various parts of the filter. I use a soft-headed toothbrush and aquarium water to clean the bio-sieve from both sides when it is "clogged" with wet aquarium water coming out of the diverter nozzle that the HOB Fluval C-Series has for five filter stages. Very good filter but clogs quickly

The filters are of very good quality and they do exactly what they are designed to do although they are a little pricey. This would be a 4-5 star rating if it weren't for one annoying detail: they clog up very quickly. While they are very easy to rinse and reuse, I find I have to clean them more than once a week because they get clogged, which allows more water to flow over them and the edges of the biomedia compartment than through them. That. This makes me a little worried about using this…

It's OK: Fish and Aquatic Animals

They are good at what they do but clog up very quickly and are overpriced in my opinion. On the other hand, if you don't mind extra maintenance, you can just clean them many times before replacing them, but eventually they start to come loose. This clears dirt from the lower biofilter, but the filter itself quickly becomes clogged. . Once I use them I'll stop using them all together, maybe even before they run out. I don't see the added benefit because they clog so quickly you end up losing…
