Works perfectly! Best in Category Fish & Aquatic Pets

Used with existing FLUVAL FX6 canister pump. My only regret is that I didn't buy it when I bought the FX6 (a year ago). This vacuum cleaner works incredibly well and has the benefit of returning the cleaned water back to the canister and then to the aquarium via disposal. For my saltwater reef tank I had to clean the tank but could not get rid of the water as it is treated with algae medication and cannot do a water change for 25 days. This product was the perfect solution. Extremely well built

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Frequency

Easily assembled, bought as other common cleaning tools were short or the siphon was a bit difficult to start. Be careful, my connector came loose from a drain valve, this kit must be splashing water on my floor, although it's my fault for not checking the connector. The filter cup works as expected, although too much force will loosen the filter cup suction cups! I recommend getting someone to help and making sure the cup suction cups stay attached to your tank as directed.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Slightly snapped

Great idea, worst implementation

Everything works as you think, but the sucked water does not go through the filter material, but out and into the aquarium, the problem is that you then suck all the shit out from below and through the exit throw in the tank. It comes with a filter sock but it is tiny compared to the size of the tank this filter is designed for so you have to change that sock every 2 minutes which defeats the whole purpose. It either has to have a giant sock before the water gets into the filter (love that…

  • Absolute legend

  • Vulgarity

A bit more complicated 55 gallon tank

The instructions aren't as clear on how to get the suction and don't tell me whether to turn the filter on or off. I've had it for a LONG time and have used it several times. It either ran too fast and sucked a lot of air into the system, scaring my fish to death when I turned it back on, or it took a while to prime, if at all. If there was an order of operation telling when to turn it on or off and open the valve that would be most useful. No I didn't call and yes I read the instructions and…

Easy tank cleaning and filling

This item is good. You need to make sure everything is properly connected before and during use. The extensions are thin so use caution when using them in an aquarium. The hoses need to be warmed up the first time they are immersed in hot water to make them a bit more flexible. It's awkward to use at first, but once you learn how to toggle the dial on your filter and primer, you'll be fine. Cleans like a champ. The best part for me is that you can remove the hose from the cleaning rod and use…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Negative gift

Good idea but poorly thought out trick

I really wanted to like it. I've been using an old fashioned gravel vacuum for years and it's a nuisance to use and you can't do it without draining the water. It seemed to be the answer. He used my cleaning filter, how great! This thing. It works, but there are serious problems. - Wait, this hose will bend and you will lose strength. If the filter is on the right or left side, you will not be able to vacuum that side of the tank without much difficulty. 3) The suction cups that hold the filter

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • so far so good
