Fixes stuck latch: my feedback

Works perfectly, quality possibly better than new. Stuck latch on 2nd Gen Fit? This is your fix.Don't know why "easy to install" would be something Revain wants me to rate this product on . 1 star for that, because it's not easy at all, but that's not the fault of the COMPONENT, that's the design of the entire hatch assembly . the component is a perfect match for the mounting points.

Pros
  • Arrived in short order. Easy to install and works great.
Cons
  • Did not open the tailgate.

Just like the original one but cheaper!

After 16 years the trunk latch started to fail and it was a headache. Fortunately, I found this replacement the same as the original one but at a reasonable price. Installation was easy and now I feel peace of mind.

Pros
  • Fit perfectly in my Toyota Corolla 2004
Cons
  • The mechanism may require excessive force to open and close

Absolute junk best in my review

Claws didn’t fully extend to release latch, key turned but the metal lock mechanism didn’t engage the lock or disengage it.

Pros
  • Good replacement solved the door problem
Cons
  • Sensitive to weather conditions such as rain and snow

you'll need washers

2003 toyota corolla le put in the new latch and it wouldn't catch. placed washers between latch and trunk to extend out the latch and it worked. perhaps they should add a few washers with the latch.

Pros
  • installed in less than 20 minutes and it works great!
Cons
  • Poor quality materials used in the construction of the handle

Easy to install, great fix for Fit latch issues

Used this on a 10-year-old 2010 Fit with a rusted-out latch that would not open. Pretty simple to replace the latch itself, but you will probably need to replace some retention clips on the trim piece that covers the latch (they'll inevitably break if the car is old), and those are a bit expensive from a Honda dealership. You will also need to remove the interior trim on the hatchback, and make sure those clips stay in the same place - the colors mean something, and they're a few bucks apiece…

Pros
  • Worked for my 2007 Honda Accord base model. So far been 6 months with no issues.
Cons
  • Not compatible with some aftermarket locking systems

Diamond in the rough.

Unfortunately no video for this. It was -7 without the windchill out in Manchester NH. However it took me 12 minutes to pull off and install the new one with only a nut driver. Basically a socket screwdriver. I believe it was 10mm.

Pros
  • Happy
Cons
  • Not very aesthetically pleasing

Cheap keys - my new review

Handles fit perfectly on my truck but unfortunately the lock cylinders are cheaply made and keys are as well key broke while I was unlocking my truck so had to buy new ones from my nearest auto parts store

Pros
  • Easy to installGreat qualityBetter than one that was there
Cons
  • Poor representation of the Ford brand

Doesn't fit 2007 Honda Accord coupe

This does NOT fit a 2007 Honda accord coupe. It has a piece on the back that the orginal trunk latch does not have. Thankfully my husband is a fabricating master since just cut that piece off 🥰It was still a major hassle. Especially since it says it would fit my car. After he cut the part off it was easy to install.

Pros
  • Trunk would not close properly and was even causing the battery to die, this fixed it easily
Cons
  • Difficult to install on your own

Great piece, might need a little modification

I bought this for a 2007 Accord coupe, and like another review here stated the gold loop piece on the back side doesn't go to this application. I think it is for cars with a key cylinder on the trunk lid. Just remove the loop and bolt it in it works great. You don't even need to cut the loop off, grab it with pliers and work it back and forth until it snaps off.Haven't been able to open this trunk for 2 years and decided enough is enough, this piece was perfect.Crawl through your seats, pry off…

Pros
  • Very good value for money.
Cons
  • The handle may become loose and wiggle over time

Perfect fit for my '09 Honda Fit

Just finished installing this handle on my 2009 Honda Fit. Not too difficult to install with the help of a tutorial video. Once the trim panels and wiper were removed, it was swapped easily for the old rusty handle.

Pros
  • Product was exactly as described!
Cons
  • The handle may break off during regular use

Simple to install. good for me

Able to restore use of the back door to my Honda fit. Unbelievable compared to what the dealership wanted to charge me for doing this.

Pros
  • Easy to install!
Cons
  • Prone to easily breaking or becoming non-functioning

Quality replacement for 2011 Honda fit

The release itself seems well-made and comparable to the original. I had to replace the original because after 10 years it rusted and didn’t spring back into place. It was always a headache opening the back hatch. Replacement is tricky though. I was afraid one of the many plastic components you have to pry off would break. I did it without removing the wiper arm, which wouldn’t budge. Watch several YouTube videos. Between this and replacing the fogged headlights I feel like I have a new car.

Pros
  • Works as expected
Cons
  • Difficult to find replacement parts if necessary

Not a replacement for 2007 Accord

The site on Revain said this was the correct replacement part for 2007 Accord. It was not, but I was able to use components of this part with components of the old part to fix the problem.

Pros
  • Ok so this latch will work on a 2002 toyota echo with a little ingenuity.
Cons
  • The latch mechanism may not fully engage, leading to security issues

Same issue as the one I was replacing

I was replacing the old assembly because sometimes it wouldn’t open with the trunk latch in the cabin and it was annoying but it turns out even the new ones have the same issue it’s the little sliding mechanism within the lock that doesn’t go back down unless I slam the trunk.

Pros
  • Works as it should!! Fixed my trunk problem, it didn’t close before but now perfect! Thanks!!!!
Cons
  • The handle may not match the color of your vehicle

Great replacement handle

I really didn't like installing this handle because my car makes it so hard. But I also didn't like not being able to open the rear hatch on my Honda Fit.This handle installed perfectly. My only modification was adding some grease to the spring and pivot points to hopefully stave off the rust for as long as possible.

Pros
  • Great price easy to install
Cons
  • May not properly align and latch shut with the door frame

Watch a video first

This is a great price for a flawed Honda design. Don't spend $$$ on OEM since this is great quality and fit perfectly. Lots of videos on the internet as to how to install these. Watch them first. Made installation easy but will require some tools and a lot of praying that the plastic trim parts that need removed don't break.

Pros
  • Delivered quickly, worked well
Cons
  • Could not use part, not correct size

Great for 06 Accord

Used this on my 2006 Honda Accord. Perfect fit. Super easy to install— just needed a screwdriver and about 10 minutes start to finish.Have had it installed a little over a month with no issues so far.

Pros
  • It was delivered fast and my body mechanic put it on quickly.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with electronic locking systems

So happy to be able to open my trunk again!

it feels a little cheap, and the bracket doesnt quite line up to the cable lock, which drags the cable crooked, but it opens the door every time, and that is a lot more than I could do before.

Pros
  • Fit and worked
Cons
  • The locking mechanism is prone to malfunctioning

Revainrating 5 out of 5

perfect solution to sticking/rusty handle

Removing and replacing the handle can be tricky and requires some careful panel removal but the part itself solves the problem perfectly

Pros
  • Installed almost perfectly. My trunk works again.
Cons
  • Requires routine maintenance to stay functional

Works great on my review.

It works great and fairly easy to install but didn't have directions. Feels kinda cheat but does the job and looks great.

Pros
  • It was reasonable to install and works as it’s supposed to.
Cons
  • Susceptible to rusting and corrosion over time
