Very weak and thin

I bought this product because I thought it would be much more durable. In fact it is very thin and thin. If it was thicker/harder it would probably be fine. He wouldn't even be able to stay in a deep crevice. In fact, it will "pop out" due to the fact that it's thin and flimsy. Now I have to double it to complete the job.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons

Great for permanent and temporary use

This foam sealant is great for gaps around seldom used doors - we have a deck door that is seldom used but has some gaps. I can patch the cracks for winter and leave it securely in place, and when summer comes and I want the door to open so some of the air in the foam just comes out. On the other hand, for gaps around windows or in walls. If you press it down firmly with a spatula or butter knife, I expect it will stay secure for decades.

Pros
  • Adhesive Sealant
Cons
  • I'll text back

This works well as an auxiliary stick for sealing perimeter gaps

I have had no problems with this product. The only issue wasn't with the seal retainer but trying to use the same rope for different sized gaps. I went with the 3/8" protective pad as it is neither too thin nor too thick. For some gaps that were much less than 3/8" I had to cut the rope in half with a frosted knife. For gaps much larger than 3/8" I turned the rope into basically 2-ply tape and got a pretty acceptable result with that. Or pre-measure each gap and buy several sizes of caulking…

  • Quick Guide

This material is excellent for filling cracks and crevices. I wouldn't use it for anything very deep, or you'll need multiple layers. The same goes for anything larger than about half an inch. Not big enough. The only complaint I have is the ease with which it smooths out. I used it to deaden the sound of a door not meant to be used. It worked well, but now it's basically a pancake and has lost its effectiveness. However, for filling cracks, this works very well. I've also used it around…
