I had high hopes for this product but they turned out to be terrible. After finally managing to stay on the downspout with extra zips (initially they just slipped off under rainwater pressure) I very quickly found the design to be poor and just wouldn't work as advertised. The tension in the mechanism is so strong that it rolls up so it won't roll out even in heavy rain. This product works well with some modifications. I place a second tie behind the foam pad to more securely attach the drain extension to the downspout; The single zip that came with the product was not securely fastened when placed over the foam padding, resulting in the extension detaching from the downspout. First, I should note that this downspout extender was installed in a home in Florida where it rains every day during the summer. high hopes for this 4" downspout extender. Although other reviewers have said so, I didn't think so.
