Waiting to be installed in the cabin.

It was easy to check by placing the thermostat between two ice packs for about 5 minutes. Heats up quickly but feels secure. This would be a great product to ease the "turning the water on and off" routine at our high country cabin.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I wasn't too surprised because I didn't insulate the pipe and .

Seems to work well. But my pipes burst anyway. I wasn't too surprised because I didn't insulate the pipe and the temperature has been near zero for more than a week. Be sure to insulate the pipes after use

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Available in white only

Works perfectly ! best pipes, fittings and accessories

Works great! I live in southern Idaho and I live in a renovated old house and the main line enters my house right at the entrance to my subway. So it was a little open, I woke up with no water as a result, but since I installed the heater and for the past few weeks it has been well below freezing and I haven't had any problems with frozen pipes! Good product! Well work!

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Some defects

Works as advertised

Followed instructions and works perfectly. Use it for my pipes and anti-siphon valves coming out of my house and going into the ground. Relieves our anxiety during the fall to winter and winter to spring temperature transitions when we want to water and keep our irrigation pipes from freezing. Don't leave your irrigation water running all winter unless you want to risk freezing when it gets really cold.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Not sure

Worked well with abnormal use

I had an outdoor faucet that dripped very slowly. This kept the pipe from freezing in the winter, but also caused a large ice dam to form on the wall of my house, to the point where I was concerned my siding might be damaged. I took this heating cable and threw it over the faucet. , secure it with a piece of wire extending into the ground along the length. It melted again and prevented the ice dam from returning to my house.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • unreliable

Looks like it's working?

I live in Texas. I have never used a product like this before. Always thought heated pipe wire was for folks north of Mason Dixon. But last February everything changed here in Texas. Ice storm Uri is here! This year I wanted to prepare for Uri II. I have the tracing set correctly (I think). I haven't plugged it in yet because it hasn't cooled down yet. I will update my review when it gets colder. Come to think of it, I don't have a thermometer either. Oh I just have to examine my wife's toes…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Finally found an inexpensive heating cable

Updated 4/10/19 For those wondering, my chick waterer survived two winters. I would suggest tighter windings and/or more insulation if making a similar irrigation unit as this configuration will freeze below 0C for prolonged periods of time. The heating cable continues to function. See original review below. Used this to make a frost resistant waterer for my chicken coop. Wrapped this around 4" PVC and then insulated the Reflectix BP48010 with 48" and 10 feet of bubble wrap. I then used masking

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Almost never

Works exactly as it should

This 6ft Frost King heating cable works exactly as it should! I have a pipe that has frozen and cracked twice in 10 years in an unheated basement. . As you can see from the photos, on my recent renovation I placed the pipe 2 inches from the outside wall and used heavier gauge L-type copper pipe. Frost King's heating cable was very flexible (after I tested and warmed it up) and could easily be tied to the pipe every 3.5 to 4 inches. After it was tied to the pipe I cut off the tie tails and…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
