This is a really solid and beautiful external hard drive. It seems that it can be plugged in and is 99% waterproof and 99.999% dustproof. It's relatively fast for file transfers on Windows 10. It uses USB 3.0 with a unique USB-C cable on both ends and a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter. I contacted support and they sent me a link to the $120 software so I could try to get my data. I added 500 gigs to it once and it was all good. Although it felt quite warm, it wasn't hot. I can see how constantly transferring a lot of data can cause problems for some, as they report. I don't know if it's hot or not but the longer I update. Even with the USB adapter on a Lightning cable, it was fast, way faster than my Spin drive.
