Made the paella right after getting the pan. That .

Paella made right after I got the pan. It's HUGE so make sure the heat is evenly distributed. I washed before use and forgot to oil and there are rust spots. Cleaned with steel wool and rust removed again and then oiled. Can't wait to make another batch.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • I'm pissed off

The essentials for paella! Happy customer

This was my first paella pan that I had to. I was a bit nervous at first because a lot of people were complaining about rust. After a bit of research, I found out that they need to be washed, dried and seasoned with a little olive oil before use. The pot also came with some instructions to make it easier. I made my first paella and it turned out great! I love this pan and I'm glad I didn't go for the cheaper one.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Long wait

Good product. I cooked 3 spanish paellas.

Great product. I made 3 spanish paellas and they turned out great. You should use some cooking oil after cleaning to avoid rusting, which is easy, just apply the oil to the pan and make sure it covers the cooking area. To clean this and any other pan without scrubbing, simply use water and some white vinegar and bring it to a boil. This will elevate everything in it. I recommend, if you're willing, to oil it after each use.

Cooks great in the kitchen and dining room

My mother used these pans for paella when I was a kid, but then we had gas. Bought this for my electric range and now moving on to the pan, I have plenty of room to stir, it goes without saying that the center of the pan is the cooking surface above the stove and the edges seem to be warm that area up. If you have gas, the heat distribution is greater, with cutlery less, as the bottom of the paella dish is slightly curved. However, since the purchase, this ceramic hob user has only used this…

This is not the Socarrat you are looking for!

This pan would get 5 stars if I could use it on a beach in Spain over a perfectly manicured log fire with birdsong listening to the gentle sunset. Back to real work in a small NYC 1 BRD with a small gas stove gets zero stars! That's why a 15 inch pan is WAY too big. And it's also very thin, so your stove's fire sits squarely in the center of the pan and burns everything. steam the rice. And it is very difficult to clean and store. The paella is crispy in the center (not the socarrata you're…

Great Paella Pan!: Paella Pans

Just used this 15 inch paella pan for the first time and it worked great! Great at heat distribution but not as heavy as cast iron which makes it difficult to maneuver - great balance of weight and heat distribution This is a large pan so if your burners are a bit spaced like ours you'll need to move the pan around back and forth while cooking to cook the paella evenly. Like any raw steel, it requires maintenance, so don't use soap and remember to apply a light coat of oil after cleaning. In…

Minus 100 stars! in pots and pans

I wish I could put minus stars! I'm pretty sure I got hold of a used, broken frying pan! lower hob and abrasions on the inside! The item does NOT sit flat on my glass cooktop and is slightly rounded at the bottom of the pan! I've washed and seasoned it according to directions but it still has a strong plastic and chemical smell so I don't feel safe cooking it! I think it would have been a good frying pan if I hadn't received a broken possibly used frying pan! Quality control passed for this…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • No automatic

I often rely on negative reviews, and sometimes they can be more helpful than positive ones. But in this case I am giving a 1 star rating in hopes that people paying attention to the negatives will notice. There's nothing wrong with this pan rusting with abuse. It's made of carbon steel, which is over 97% iron, so yes, it will rust just like cast iron. It needs to be seasoned to prevent rust and improve performance. These facts have been known since the beginning of the Iron Age, how did they…

Superb paella pan, sturdy, 8-10 person capacity

I had bought an 18 inch version of the same pan a few months previously and was so pleased I bought this well for much smaller gatherings . This pot will easily feed 8-10 people depending on how much you put in it. That means I can easily feed 25 or more people together. When I receive this pan, there are a few steps that are not immediately known and are very important before making my first paella. Of course, everyone will remove the sticker and most will flush the pan. BUT. Be sure to wash…
