Good GPS for $$

I went to Las Vegas to visit a friend and was having trouble finding his house. I've tried several phone mounts when using maps. They always fell. And the more I thought about it with the possibility of going to other cities that I don't know that well, I decided on a GPS. I'm glad I did. A few months after I received it, I went to a concert in northern Utah and met up with another friend. I chose Garmin as the first 9 out of 10 were gramins. This is an amazing GPS. I love the split screen on…

Good GPS for everyday use.

Good device. I haven't had a GPS for years. I used Waze on my phone and then wondered why I was wasting data when I can get GPS in just a few days for a fair price. After some research I found this Garmin which had good reviews and was named a top seller. The device is good, does what I need. There was a bit of a delay loading the instructions (cell phone works right away). The device comes with everything you need to charge/update the device. Mounting on the windshield of the car - GARBAGE…

Garmin is the way to success

This GPS navigator ticks all the boxes. I've always preferred Garmin tom toms. After doing a little research on the internet, I was able to find and download all sorts of accents that say street names. Now my family and I listen to Karen from Australia. We also added Homer's car. You can get Simpsons cars for free without buying the whole theme. Homer and Marge still don't say street names. There is a squirrel voice which is also free and really fun for kids. He says "Oh shit" when you take a…

This lady is very stubborn

I have to admit that I am still getting used to this article and I am getting used to it. I think the female voice might be a mistake; she is very stubborn and insists on herself. For example, she wanted to turn onto the road half a mile ahead of me, and when I didn't, she insisted on going another half mile. It's funny to hear her mispronouncing street names. Many of them are Spanish. I tried it out on a trip to Pierce, Arizona. She wanted to take a route that would put me 30 miles out of the…

Trouble getting route and hard to read screen

I have had Garmin GPS units for at least 9 years and love them! The touch icons on my old Nuvi 1490 weren't working reliably anymore (especially the back icon on the bottom left), so I figured it was time for a new device. The Nuvi 55 is a very good replacement, but I miss my old 1490 a bit. Here's why: 1. First, I can't figure out how it finds the fastest route. I went with the fastest route option in settings, but on a recent 1,000-mile ride it insisted on choosing interstate routes. I tried…

It's cheaper than a divorce lawyer

I bought a Garmin nuvi 65 LM GPS and a UK/Ireland map. .Never get lost with this card. This is a newer map with all roads new and old. I programmed a map with hundreds of wave points/favorites and all our B&Bs/hotels. I did this at home BEFORE we left for Ireland using the free Base Camp software available on the Garmin website and Google Maps to get the GPS coordinates for entry. I gave all points P001 and place names P002, P003. . . My wife had a paper itinerary of where and where we were…
