May cause water hammer

After our plumber installed this filter system in our home, we experienced water hammer and pipe rattling after the first filter change. When the control lever is adjusted to bypass the filtration, the knock will disappear and will return when the lever is adjusted to filter the water. Our plumber said the problem was with the filter and they needed to install an additional water hammer valve which cost about $125. The first filter changed to orange with trapped sediment after a few days (we…

The three-way valve above is good.

Didn't know what to expect from them and bought two. They come with a beautiful bracket that can be installed for any direction of water flow. The top cover can also be turned upside down depending on the water flow. It also includes screws for attachment. There is a three-way valve at the top that allows you to shut off, bypass, or direct the flow through the filter. A nice feature that allows you to avoid having to turn off the water to change the filter. There are also other manufacturers…

Superb Water Filter

I have installed two of these built in filters in two different homes that are supplied with deep well water. In the first filter I use a coarse filter (from 15 to 30 microns) and in the second filter I use a fine filter (5 microns). The first filter needs to be changed about every 60 days, but the second filter can last four or five months before the accumulation of fine sediment needs to be replaced. The on/off/bypass is convenient and the mount is best for this type of device, especially…

Very Difficult Best in Water Filtration and Softener

I would recommend you to buy another brand not because of the product but because of the company. I bought mine in January 2020 but didn't install it until July 2020 due to other projects. But in any case I installed it myself and installed such filter housings many, many times. Well I turned the water on and it keeps dripping from the overflow valve on the body so I put a bucket under it as it can't stay that way and I emailed the manufacturer GE straight away and got a response the next day…

The red button will end your luck.

This is a very affordable system and does what it says on the tin. HOWEVER, DO NOT PRESS the red button. Any sediment you get will get stuck in that outlet valve and drip and break out forever. *** Is there a solution you ask? *** It really depends on your skill level. I fixed this by completely disassembling the red valve, taking it apart (it's actually grooved to hold the knob in place), cleaning the cavity very well, cleaning the piston and o-ring, and applying and pulling a film of lube on…

Save yourself the hassle and buy something else

Filters purchased in May, two of which were professionally installed. In August, the pressure release button came loose; He immediately detached himself from the corpse. The plastic around the pressure release button is ridiculously flimsy and flimsy. The filter housing seems solid but is let down by the idiotic design making the product dangerous to own and prone to leaks. GE's customer service subordinate was helpful but couldn't do anything - they told us to contact customer service to see…

Prevents debris from entering the water

When I had a home that depended on a well for water, I have an earlier version of this GE GXWH20S Standard Flow Whole Home uses filtration system and I was happy that it did a good job removing the dirt from my well water. My new house is connected to the municipal water supply. After a neighbor told me about the dirt in his water, I decided to buy one to filter the water in my house. The ball of this filter is transparent so you can easily see when the filter is dirty and needs to be replaced.

Pros
  • ACCESSORIES: Filter, Mounting Kit, Mounting Brackets, Wrench
Cons
  • So far so good

This is a moderate and thorough installation. It is an economical solution for hot water tank filtration. It works well for my hot water tank to prevent it from being damaged by sediment and sand. It works well and I recommend it with caution: this device tends to leak at some point. Some leakage came from the inlet and outlet fittings which I had to fix after a year. In addition, the filter head also failed (due to a crack in the head where the housing was screwed in). This is after…
