Giro Artex MIPS Adult Mountain Bike Helmet Review

I prefer Giro helmets because I know they fit and have never hurt me in the past. Plus, they're an affordable alternative to some of the other big names. This is my first MIPS helmet and it's fantastic. It's really safe with no pressure points. I definitely recommend trying it.

Helmet is fine would give it 4 or 5 stars. But the visor keeps falling off. I thought I lost it in a bike race once, it turned out to have fallen off at the start so I was able to get it back. It won't fall off during normal driving, but if you sit wrong or grab it by the visor, it will fall off immediately.

Rode a few hours and still impressed. I hated wearing my old helmet so I went without it for years. A few months ago I bumped my shoulder hard into a tree and reconsidered my decision. Problem is I'm in Florida and it's hot there. After a long search I decided on this one and I am satisfied so far. Very easy. Comfortable fit. Excellent ventilation. Hopefully I'll never know if it'll really save me in a fall, but it's not disruptive meaning I'll keep wearing it.

The first time I wore this helmet was at a bike club and I was in a hurry to attach the visor to the helmet. At the end of the trip I was ready to return the helmet to Revane. . until I realized I couldn't properly attach the visor to the helmet. . it was hanging so low on my helmet that it was obscuring my vision while riding. Giro is my favorite helmet brand but the bottom half of their range has become Adult One Size. which is not ideal. My 58cm head size is near the top of Giro's "medium” range and their medium helmets fit me perfectly. The fit, finish, performance and quality of the Artex MIPS helmet is superb - my new favorite helmet. I love that I can easily remove the visor for road use when I'm not mountain biking. I read the reviews before buying and ignored the belt problems. I've worn Giro helmets my whole life. never a problem So I took a chance and lost. The tape rubs your face and neck as it is too short. I wore it on the strap loop end and it actually came loose due to friction during a 2 hour mountain bike ride. Jiro contacted and below is her response.
