My printer was clogged and broke

I made some amazing prints until the nozzle got clogged. I tried to pull it out and ended up breaking my hotend completely. Now my printer won't work until I buy a new heater block which will cost me about $40. Not funny. This material looks good and is easy to print on, but leaves a lot of carbon behind. Opt for a brand like Hatchbox instead by paying an extra $2.

Pros
  • 3D printing consumables
Cons
  • No productivity

Ignore the bad reviews

Because they're all left over from inexperienced people who haven't taken the time to learn about 3D printing. This thread is fine. As with any other wood thread, everything is in the settings. Google for wood printing tips. Swap out a 0.4 nozzle for a 0.6 and you've solved pretty much every problem others have complained about. A normal PLA print profile should suffice. Turn the temp down to 190 (180 for some designs) and lower the flow a bit and you will be golden.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • I don't remember

3D Printer Testimonial

Hello, there were many reviews on this topic that seemed to be inaccurate, so I'd like to check this out as I have a few years of 3D printing experience. I read the comments about using the 0.6mm nozzle and decided to go with it. I was able to print well with it at 185c, grip wasn't the best, but above 190c I got a lot of tension (maybe it was my extruder). The resulting print didn't impress me too much. It didn't look, feel or smell like wood. It just smelled like regular PLA. It also grindsโ€ฆ
