Install my 29er disc brake; YMMV

I bought this rear stand to mount on my 2013 Diamondback Overdrive Expert 29er as the regular side stand didn't fit. I was a bit worried because some of the other reviews said it wouldn't work with disc brakes, but I decided to give it a try. I was able to fit it to my bike even though I had disc brakes and the tubes were the wrong shape. The mount cleared my rear disc about 1/2 inch which is good enough. I also don't have a problem with my left foot hitting the stand while pedaling; I wearโ€ฆ

Super efficient. Excellent quality.

I am very glad I bought this stand. It's very durable, mostly easy to assemble, and completely changes the center of gravity when I have a pannier bag and other items attached to the bike rack. However, I will point out that you must pay attention to the length of your chain. My chain is 17-1/2" long and in certain situations I have a bit of heel banging on the new footboard. When installed on my bike, the footpeg is about 4 and 1/4" from the center of the rear axle. I also put some 3M clearโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Older model

As stated in the title, this is one of the best rear frame stands available: - The movement is very smooth - Inexpensive/available - The entire assembly is aluminum including the brackets that attach to the frame (steel bolts ) - buy a longer one if you have 700 series wheels or more; You can always cut the leg with a hacksaw. - I didn't have to cut it with my 700 series wheels. - A long/hard stand that you may need to shorten (e.g. for 24" or 26" wheels?) is better than an adjustable standโ€ฆ

Durable, light and offers very good stability.

This review is for Greenfield SKS2-305B 305mm Rear Stabilizer Bar, Black Aluminum. I installed one on a 1998 Specialized Hardback 19" MTB frame with 26" tires and one on a 2010 Trek 3700 13" frame. I used the included rubber grommets on both bikes. Tools required: a regular screwdriver and two Allen keys. No modifications were required to properly fit my "Specialized". However, on my trek, two of the four mounting bolts need to be 1/2 inch longer. This GF rear stand weighs 260 g (lightweight)โ€ฆ

  • Comfortable

  • Useless features

Good stand good for sports

Overall I am happy with the stand. He does his job well. However, there are a few minor issues that I will address. First it was shipped in a package (in a big box) that didn't contain anything to prevent the parts from bumping into each other during shipping. There doesn't seem to be any damage, but it's a bit annoying to me. In one place the paint was not applied in full thickness, but this is not apparent at first glance. The mounting bolts were barely long enough to attach the footboard. Iโ€ฆ
