I have to park my car outside in western New York in the winter and these straps hold the car cover fairly tight to the body so the wind can't get under the cover and blow it off. In my old car cover, I had to drill holes in the bottom and tie a rope to the car's undercarriage to keep it from blowing away in the wind. In theory these straps are useful for attaching a car cover but I'm not sure I can recommend this product mainly due to the fact that the straps tend to tighten after 5-6 months stretch and wear out. .
