Excellent fins for water sports

My husband loves it! They run a little big, so take the smaller size if you're between sizes. Very convenient. The spring band is great and is very easy to put on and take off.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Check size and fit

Haven't used it yet but god the leg pocket is huge. I'm 10.5 feet wide so I have regulars who say 8-10 fit. I have the spring fully adjusted and with typical 2mm dive socks spring barley is touching my heel. You can tell by the packaging that they have been purchased and returned in the past and I will do the same. I take a small 3-8 to equal 10 5 feet.

  • Best
Cons
  • Useless features

Great warm water, technical travel fin!

Excellent travel fin. Light, compact and powerful. I use them on vacation and try to reduce the weight of my luggage. However, I am used to heavy rubber fins in technical diving. They don't offer the same performance as a jet fin (so don't expect great results when diving with multiple tanks, cold water weights, etc.). Perfect for relaxing on tropical water!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • old

Technical, non-technical fins.

I like Hollis gear but it's brutal. Any technical kick like a frog, modded flapping etc. If you buy them for snorkeling or you are a warm water diver with an AL80 and BC jacket - they will work for you but the 'technical' ones won't.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • outlet required

Good for hitting a frog

Two problems with these fins: 1: The leg pockets are quite large. I'm a size 11 and "Regular" only worked with a full 5mm boot - no chance of using it for anything smaller. Even then it was too big. Second, it really doesn't work very well with flutter kick. Good for frog strike, also good for light bodied technical diving. On the other hand, they are VERY light and quite compact. Good for on the go. Just choose the right size and the frog is gone! Don't expect these to be "fast" fins. But when

Great fins perfect for traveling

Bought because the original fins they are based on got great reviews on a diver comparison site. They seem better than the originals because they are held in place by springs rather than straps and are very easy to put on on a fully geared dive boat and even easier to take off in the water so you can start the boat. Climb stairs. They are also very fast in the water, almost as fast as my top Apollo biofins. But best of all is the weight and size. They are shorter and much lighter than standard…

Great fins for on the go.

I recently used it at a local quarry for a test run and will be taking it to Bonaire this summer. An interesting point discovered during this trip is that these fins have a slight positive buoyancy in fresh water. I expect there to be even more buoyancy in salt water. The result of the test was that they work very well as a "travel fin" and will be very good for a reef or wall. They don't have enough power, so I won't take them into big waves or dive shipwrecks off the North Carolina coast. I…

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not automatic

Great fins for travel and tech

If you don't want to take your big and heavy fins (Scubapro Jets, Hollis F1) with you on vacation then these fins are perfect for you. After much research it turned out that these are the only fins on the market that are (a) small and light enough for travel but (b) fully submersible. These fins are slightly shorter and narrower than the Scubapro jet fins BUT that one or two inch difference makes a big difference in propulsion. I can actually pack these fins in my carry-on! (21x9x14 inches)…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Hard to say
