Looks well made, I had to turn the unit over as I have a door that slides left to right and it was set up for a door that slides right to goes left. I also had to loosen the screw holding the two components together because my door was a little thicker. But after all this is done, it seems to fit well.

I bought this to replace the one our kids broke. It didn't fit in the original space so I took it apart and just used it and replaced the real train which was too big but I got it working. If used as a spare, the external dimensions may be correct, but the inside may be a different story. If you know where your original came from (which I didn't because that's how I bought the house) I would suggest buying there for an accurate fit.

I have made sure this lock is the perfect size for the lock I am looking to replace. The dimensions and position of the screw holes were identical. However, I found two problems. The strike plate was shorter than the original. It doesn't look great, but it doesn't matter. However, the internal mechanism moves back a quarter of an inch when closed. The door lock does not work if you follow the installation instructions. After trimming the door per the instructions, the latch mechanism is protruding and not fully seated. I drilled a 3/4" hole 1/4" deep 1" below the top of the door cutout. This gave enough relief for the lock to enter the door and the latch mechanism to work. A chisel can also be used for relief. This is a good product and works great. The 2-1/4" notch was lined with a combination square and carefully cut out with a multi-tool. The instructions don't say the front screws adjust it for the thickness of the door. The front of the lock is slightly wider than the 2-1 /4" notch so it won't fit the edge of the door perfectly. Hold it and use a sharp knife to remove a small piece of material from the top and bottom if you want it to sit perfectly flush. Once up the lock is in the door, latch…
