Excellent weight distribution hitch but very heavy.

Ford F-150 with a 2016 R-Pod 179. It has excellent WDH (weight distribution clutch) and sway control. The instructions are pretty simple. The materials are top notch - thick and very heavy. Once properly installed and set up, it will get the job done, but beware, it "moans" when you turn around and travel with it. The noise isn't bad, but at first you'll think something's wrong, but you'll get used to it; If it makes noise, it's doing its job. You should practice climbing and descending poles…

Heavy duty hitch best hitch for weight distribution

I've had 9 motorhomes, all towed and this is by far the best hitch I've owned. Everything about this clutch is designed for tough use. Installation is relatively easy if you follow the manufacturer's instructions. I bought this hitch because I was tired of the friction controls that require you to take them off when reversing and this hitch has sway control built in. Updated 10/01/21. pick up ie SUV. He moans and groans whenever you make a turn, so be prepared for some strange looks around the…

Seems to do what it says

We have a small caravan (only Β£2900 empty, maybe Β£3700 fully loaded). We are actually under the weight limit for this hitch. My husband installed it in one day with no problems. The trailer definitely makes more noise around corners than our old trailer (lots of squeaks and grunts), but apparently that's normal. I often tow the trailer myself and it is important to be able to do all the steps of hitching and lifting the trailer myself. We have found that if the hitch is over adjusted (ie…

Best value for money for a WD towbar.

I have looked at the more expensive WD clutches but this one works fine. I had an old camper that was very low so unfortunately I had to buy another much deeper stock. Most new campers will probably be fine with this SUV on a standard-height SUV. The only downside to this hitch is that the pivots are not ball bearings, creating a rigid connection with every adjustment. Overall I'm happy with it as it does what it's supposed to do which is get rid of the suspension entirely and put the right…

Heavy duty for serious towing - Great customer service

I used weight distribution hitches for many years in my early twenties. I'm almost 70 and can attest that this is the best I've seen or used. I have used hitches that have separate weight distribution and pendulum components. They can work, but they seemed like a nuisance to me. We were driving through West Texas with a trailer hitch with separate sway control, towing a small 26-foot travel trailer, and the crosswinds were pretty tough. This clutch is very strong and has complete control over…

Quality clutch, but be careful with the equipment!

This is a well designed, well built and solid hitch. I bought a 6000 lb trailer hitch. and 400-600 pounds. Pull rod weight, but Husky seems to use the same stem, head and brackets for all Center Line TS hitches. So with the rallies (2 inches by 2 15/16 feet) and spring bars this thing should be able to handle up to 12,000 pounds! The instructions are great and the installation is easy except for tightening the screws. Don't underestimate the challenge of tightening a bolt at 360 ft. lbs. This…

Game Change!: Weight Distribution Issues

So I have a Colorado and it's on the limit of what it can tow my TT (3500 pounds). I wanted to give him the best possible hand with a good WD setup. Installation was easy except I ordered a 2" ball and needed a 2 5/16" ball. So I had a heck of a time to change it to 9 billion ft-lbs of torque. Make sure you order the right one :). It took several adjustments to find the optimal location. In retrospect, I recommend loading the camper and truck before adjusting the height :). Expert advice :). As

Ideal for small SUVs and large cars

It wasn't too difficult to install, but I watched a few YouTube videos before it arrived to prepare myself for the installation. I ran into a few issues that were entirely my fault. I assumed my pop-up's trailer tongue was at least 4 inches long, but about halfway through installation I realized it was only 3 inches. You can still install the struts, but there will be a gap between the bottom screw and the underside of the tongue frame for the struts to slide through. I solved the problem by…
