strong, well made, good value

Have been long distance swimming in ocean for years. Finally bought this buoy when I joined a swim group and saw others using. Its a great product, and fills a real need. Everything feels rugged on this and works well and is adjustable. I bike to the beach wearing like a messenger bag. I keep deflated for water entry (to get thru waves) and can easily blow it up when I'm far enough out. The waist is easy to adjust, I wear it a little slack so can move from front crawl to back easily. On my…

Pros
  • Buoy floats and holds your items. Does the intended job at a cheaper price than its competitors.
Cons
  • Terrible quality. Only used it twice before the seams came apart and made a huge hole.

Strap not adjustable; tore at seam after only a few uses.

The product description mentions that the waist belt is adjustable. This is true. However, the strap that connects the belt to the buoy is not, and it's a bit longer than I would prefer. This was pretty easily solvable by simply tying a knot in the strap, so this isn't a big deal, just a minor annoyance. What is a big deal is that after having only used this about five times, I brought it out one day to find that it wasn't holding air. I thought I must have accidentally punctured it, but when I…

Pros
  • Works great. Amazing visibility and don't even feel it as you swim.
Cons
  • Started leaking within a couple of weeks.

Buy Something (Anything!) Else

I should have known when I went in to buy my second one (possibly third, I can’t remember) that it wasn’t just a one off defect. The clip that holds the bag to the belt broke off after my first surf entry - on both bags. Fine, I used a carabiner in place of the snap. This is also the second bag that has literally busted at the seams and left a quarter sized hole hemorrhaging air. I discovered this most recent hole on a choppy day when I really needed the rest, but the buoy was nothing more than

Pros
  • This buoy is nice and small so easy to pull and big enough to use as a float.
Cons
  • IDRYBAG Safety Swim Buoy Adult Tow Float 15L may not be suitable for children or inexperienced swimmers

Works great. - my new review

This is the 4th different safety float that I have owned since they first came out (about 10 years ago). The original had the best design, that was only purchased from the International Swimming Hall of Fame. This is the best replicate to it. All of the pieces are attached, so you won’t lose the waist band and the inflate, deflate dry bag part is brilliantly designed to hold the air in when you aren’t blowing in before you put the cap on. You can flip the cap over and it helps deflate easily…

Pros
  • Nice construction of the product and nice bright color to see from afar.
Cons
  • Lasted one month and the seam opened up. Terrible quality.

Burst apart best in my review

I was happy with this buoy at first but then it just burst apart. I didn't put much effort at all when that happened, so I guess it's been glued really poor

Pros
  • The dry bag keeps my keys dry and I'm happy with this product.
Cons
  • Don't buy it! Can't use it, just break when inflate for the first time

Big buoy for open water swims.

It's a rather big buoy, so if you're more into fast, competitive training you might want to look for a smaller one. You can store quite a bit in it (most I did was 1l water bottle, flip flops, phone, small bottle of sunscreen a shirt and a small camping towel.) but electronics definitely have to go in a real dry bag as the storage compartment IS NOT WATERPROOF!The straps is rather long, which I like, since if comes handy when resting on the buoy from time to time.

Pros
  • Highly Visible in Open Water: The brightly colored swim buoy is extremely noticeable for swimmers and triathletes in open water. You easily spot by your buddy or other people from a distance due to its high visibility. The swim buoy would also provide you with extra security against passing boats and jet skis in open water among the waves. Giving you confidence and peace of mind.
Cons
  • Users may find it difficult to balance or swim with the additional weight of the float

Swivel hook is great

I’ve tried a few brands- really happy with this one. The swivel hook allows the buoy to move around in wind and waves without getting tangled

Pros
  • Works
Cons
  • The inflatable design can be punctured or damaged easily, rendering the product useless

Seam split after 5 swims

Awful, I wish I could figure out how to return this. I thought it was wonderful until a seam split after just 4 or 5 swims and it start to deflate immediately. Sad.

Pros
  • Love the color and holds air great!! Belt fits great.
Cons
  • The 15L size might be too big and cumbersome for some swimmers to manage

Great item for open water swim!

As a triathlete since 2006, how have I NEVER owned one of these? A must for practice in open water. I now feel so much safer and boaters and kayakers can see me. It also provides a respite when I need to take a small break. Not a life preserver yet it makes me feel more comfortable. I love the bright yellow color too. Excellent craftmanship too!

Pros
  • Easy to use, durable
Cons
  • The IDRYBAG Safety Swim Buoy Adult Tow Float may not withstand harsh weather conditions, such as high winds or strong currents

I loved this buoy, which I purchased on April 1. Kept me safe during my lake swims. I was super careful with it, rinsing it and hanging it between each swim. Used it about 1-2 times per week. But today, after only 3 months, I noticed it wasn't holding air. Then I realized the seam had split, leaving a 1/2 inch hole along the side.I messaged the company and they responded quickly that I had received a defective product, and quickly sent me a replacement buoy. I just received it yesterday, and…

Pros
  • Water Sports
Cons
  • The IDRYBAG Safety Swim Buoy Adult Tow Float may not provide enough buoyancy for larger or heavier swimmers

Craftsmanship - my new review

On our second buoy, first one replaced due to a hole and now second buoy has a hole. Poor craftsmanship. Had to order another but went with different vendor.

Pros
  • stayed tight and dry!
Cons
  • It can be difficult to properly secure the buoy to the user's body, potentially leading to discomfort or shifting during the swim

Excellent for beginner open water swimmers

I bought this in response to Covid-19's closure of all local pools in my area. It worked incredibly well! I put my phone, keys, glasses, and towel inside the dry bag and everything stayed dry. The strap is long enough so that the buoy doesn't affect your stroke. The strap is also long enough to fit around the waist if you are a larger person. It also floats very easily and I never worried about losing it. I highly recommend it!

Pros
  • ‎IDRYBAG
Cons
  • The buoy may not be compatible with certain types of swimwear or wetsuits

Hole after 2 months use

The blue plastic at the top came unsealed, and then the plastic buckle fell off the dry bag. It's no longer possible to seal the bag.

Pros
  • ‎Professional
Cons
  • The buoy may attract unwanted attention from wildlife, such as sharks or jellyfish

Three uses before it broke

Don't trust this swim bouy. The side broke on the third use, leaving it flat and useless. Luckily, we were close to shore. Had this happened further out during a long swim, it could have been devastatingly disastrous.

Pros
  • Swimming
Cons
  • The IDRYBAG Safety Swim Buoy Adult Tow Float may not be allowed in certain swimming areas or competitions

Excellent product!: my feedback

Color is perfect for standing out in an open water swim. Material is thick. Stores clothes & valuable items and remains completely dry.Inflates easily & deflates in seconds for folding flat storage.

Pros
  • Good quality, heavy, sturdy. Great idea for putting phone, wallet, and keys in while you swim.
Cons
  • Beautiful color but it popped in my second swim. Very disappointing.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Waterproof and easy to use

Works just as described. Makes me more comfortable on open-water swims to be high vis. Inflate/deflate easy, waterproof so far (about 15 swims). Only improvement suggestion would be tapering the strap end to reduce drag.

Pros
  • Easy to set up and use. Second purchase as the first one was crushed by an ocean wave.
Cons
  • leash is a littel short

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product! for my opinion

My son uses this for open water swimming and it works great. Great heavy material. Well worth it for his safety! That's my review!

Pros
  • Exactly as ordered. Perfect as planned. It is a gift for Christmas.
Cons
  • The buoy may make swimming more difficult for some users, especially in choppy or rough water

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Pool quality - my new review

Your product is of poor quality, all of them are punctured, so the steam is released. So disappointing. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Works like it says.
Cons
  • The use of an inflatable buoy while swimming in remote areas may increase the risk of danger if the buoy deflates

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Seams broke. Junk. on my review.

Junk.Worst product over! It popped mid swim and I returned it. They gave me a new one and after just 3 swims it popped again! Terrible product as the seams pop.

Pros
  • Swim Belts
Cons
  • The buoy may get tangled with other swimmers or watercraft in crowded areas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great! for my opinion

So far this works great! I’ve used this everyday for a month now and haven’t had any problems. Although I have never tried storing anything in it. I’ve tried a different brand that’s about 5 dollars more and it didn’t hold up past two weeks.

Pros
  • Love the color. Works awesome for the ocean and lake.
Cons
  • Ordered two of the buoys, both developed leaks over several weeks. Poor quality.
