This worked for me for about a year and a half. However, this did not work voluntarily; I had to push a lot. Some systems don't like it at all during the boot process. For systems like the Lenovo ThinkPad W700 and P70, I had to route the USB connection through a switch - in one position it connects directly to the PC, in the other position the 'keyboard' is USB powered. Keyboard to PS/2 system device that connects to the keyboard side of the PS/2 keyboard + mouse to the USB system device. This…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Great when it works right.

I've had the GCS1644 for a while and liked it, but recently I've had problems with it. Initially there were problems with dual-channel displays (flashes, strong artefacts); They were fixed by replacing the block and updating the firmware. Then I started having problems with emulated USB devices failing. If you have an issue with this KVM and replacing the device fixes it, the support team is tolerable (but very slow - expect a replacement 2-3 weeks after they receive yours). In addition, you…

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

I bought my GCS1644 from Revain.com in April 2013. I was using a Logitech DiNovo wireless keyboard combo with a wireless mouse. I couldn't get the mouse to work with emulation enabled on the GCS1644. With mouse emulation disabled, the mouse worked fine, but of course the annoying device was connecting/disconnecting with noise and associated delays. Nothing bad, but annoying. Worst of all, the keyboard was wobbly. When pressing SHIFT+letter, the GCS1644 sometimes sent CTRL+letter to the PC…

  • Same as everything before

So far so good: Computer Components

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this dual monitor KVM; IMHO too expensive. But I really wanted a dual monitor setup and I have two PCs and didn't want to set up 4 monitors nor run cables between them. I've been using this for about a month and so far so good. Let me explain that I don't run both PCs at the same time at all - I usually only have one running at a time so I don't do too many hot swaps. I did it with this GCS1642 just to experiment and it worked fine, but I don't do it

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

I bought this to switch the monitor between two systems (Linux and Windows) mainly for gaming. To do this, I didn't need to have input lag and be able to disable emulation. Numerous reviews have shown that I might not have been able to do this: Disable emulation so I can use my gaming mouse and atypical keyboard. All of them are wrong. .In the user manual (Oh, don't people read this? I READ!) on page 22. Hotkey setting mode. It says enter hotkey customization mode by holding Num-Lock and…

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Annoying
