Good for plumbers but not for me

It took me over an hour to figure this thing out and it's still not correct. First I suggest you google or read the suggestions here; I tried following the instructions that came with the kit, which was a mistake (the instructions didn't say how to shorten the unconnected chain; I had to turn to online reviews for that). So I found out on the internet that you have to move the clasp up and down and adjust the chain accordingly. OK, kinda got it. Now you need to learn how to adjust the floatโ€ฆ

Repairing 3 of my Kohler toilets due to slow valve leaks. It worked great! Here's how I installed them: 1. Pull the lid and turn off the water.2. Drain all water from the tank. 3. Remove the old valve, chain and float and set aside. Install the new flap on the bottom5. adjust the planer to the old position by pulling the black washers horizontally out of the chain5. Cut the tip of the chain to remove slack from the handle, a slight 1/4 inch wobble is acceptable. The chain must not be underโ€ฆ

Powered by Kohler 4620-DA

I have a discontinued Kohler model (4620-DA) and when the toilet started leaking I had to change the muffler. There are generic 2" with high ratings but I wanted to be sure and use the genuine part. This part is marked and sold as genuine by the manufacturer and is not even available on their website. The package arrived on time. The chain in the Kit is longer than you want I'm wondering which model is suitable for such a long chain Be prepared to shorten it with wire cutters or pliers Sameโ€ฆ

I've tried countless others but always go back to OEM Kohler!

We have four Kohler toilets in our home, all the same oblong shape. We use a mild chemical cleaner (Kaboom Scrub Free Toilet Cleaning System!) and fill it with Leisure Time 45425 Bromination Tablets, 1-1/2 lbs for hot tubs and spas and within a few years it's starting. deform at the edge of the damper. I've tried every brand of roller shutter imaginable when replacing them, but I always go back to OEM Kohler. They are so good I buy 6 at a time to have on hand because I have to replace one eachโ€ฆ

Worse than the old original cracker. Runs twice as fast.

Hard to believe, but the new one is flowing even faster than the old one. It shouldn't leak at all. This model is listed on a sticker under the cistern of my toilet. Confirmed this via email with Kohler. This is a dark blue and very flexible rubber compared to the light blue somewhat stiff rubber of the old one. It's also slightly larger in overall diameter and the swingarm length is slightly longer than the original. It seemed like these two differences were meant to improve performance. Butโ€ฆ

Great and worthwhile concept, difficult and time consuming to install.

The Kohler GP85160 damper appears to last a number of years before it no longer fits in the opening it is designed to safely close. The first time a replacement was needed (we have 4 toilets) it was my regular plumber who took care of it. He replaced the damper with a third-party model without a float. I noticed that the toilet flushed differently - when flushed, all the water drained out of the tank. With the help of a float, you can control how much water flows out when rinsing. Flushingโ€ฆ

Eliminates the need to hold a new toilet flap by the handle

The GP85160 replaces a number of Kohler Flush models, but you must hold the handle for it to function like previous models. . That's because Kohler made this replacement model large enough (if you hold the new on top of the old, it's easy to see) that it has too much extra water pressure on it to perform the same way. It's probably designed to use even less water than their old faucets, but as of about 2000, 1.6-gallon toilets still don't flush as well, automatically reducing the amount ofโ€ฆ
