There seem to be a lot of good reviews for salmon wet pillows. When dry these are the best pads I have ever used. The braking surface of my aluminum rim is so worn that I couldn't even lock the rear wheel if I tried to use different brands of black compound! Wheels brake almost like new. I wasn't overly impressed with the stopping power of the black Kool Stops, but the salmon pads modulate well and don't bite the rim at all. I normally use Scott Mathauser pads but decided to try them to replace the black pads from the Tektro 650b conversion kit. I didn't want to buy new pads or look for old ones, inserts etc. Kool Stop is handy in that they have a lot of replacement pad options and still make a lot of inserts and they fit Tektro holders very well. These brake pads were installed on a 2013 Cannondale CAAD8 that was fitted with standard Cannondale C4 calipers. They replaced the original pads, which always had mediocre stopping power at best.
