Holes not all the same size

I've had good luck with Kreg tools before, but not this time. The last hole was a different size, I probably should have returned it but figured I could just drill it open. It was a mistake, the heat from the drill melted the plastic around the metal insert and essentially destroyed that hole. I suspect they mixed up the 5mm insert with the 1/4" pieces. Well, live and learn.

Failed first hole drilled

I chose to buy this @Kregjig rather than build my own jig and it even had same day delivery which was amazing as I needed it today to fix mine to get the project going ahead and the first hole i drilled was a little off. Glad I came to the test pattern. Now I'll have to see if Revaine or Kreg will send me a new 1/4" drill as I don't want to send everything back. Update: After a quick email Kreg sent me a new drill. I'll update when it comes out and use.

Amazing time saver just don't clamp too tight

All five stars for how quick and easy this thing is to use. I was able to punch almost 100 holes in about 15 minutes with perfect accuracy. I appreciate the metal rings Kreg uses as opposed to competing products. The pin is stuck and will not allow movement when the device is placed behind the second and third sets of holes in the same row. However, two omissions bother me: 1. The metal ring does not reach to the surface of the wood, which led to the unfortunate detachment of the drill when…

Great for storing power tools and hand tools

I used one of these to drill holes to support shelves in two shelves. All holes lined up perfectly, the shelf didn't dangle. I only used one jig. The second mount easily attaches to the first with the included hardware, but the ease of moving the mount from one section to another makes me wonder why I bother with a second mount that only makes the mount bigger and more cumbersome handle power? Some users have rightly pointed out that care must be taken to ensure that the first hole in each row…

Well designed time saving tool

It comes with everything you need EXCEPT a clip to hold it in place. You'll appreciate having a Kreg clip to hold this thing in place. The drill is very sharp. So if you press down hard on the drill bit, it will poke through the wood, leaving a likely rough, split appearance. So my advice is to work slowly and press very lightly to get a clean hole. Like most things Kreg makes, it's well constructed. On the back there is a storage compartment for the bit and the dowel pin. The device even has a

What do I like? My shelves don't wobble; This Kreg mount is very accurate, even for long holes for my 8ft bookshelves. The shelf installed in the upper holes is as strong as the shelf installed in the lower holes. I have just completed a set of 6 built in bookcases for our living room. The hulls are 8 feet tall and 15 feet overall. There are over 1,500 shelf pin holes on the vertical sides, allowing for greater flexibility in shelf spacing. In order to improve production efficiency, I processed

Nice to have but with some disadvantages for my use

Bought for my carpentry shop. Building built-in closets is one of my jobs and most of my work takes place on site. This purchase was a way to simplify the tedious task of drilling pin holes in shelves. Since I recently drilled 405 holes for a bookshelf, I figured a survey would be in order. The bookcase and other designs utilizing this item (KREG KMA3200) were made from birch plywood with a solid wood front frame. Advantages: small and compact. Easy to keep on a working vehicle for immediate…

Some functions are missing

I have several Kreg products and am generally a fan of them. When it came time to put together some cabinets that needed shelving, the Kreg bolt attachment seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the product lacks some features that prevent me from recommending it. the template must be turned to opposite sides), there are no reference marks on the sides of the template to center the hole along the line. I think that would be a really useful feature and I don't quite understand why something as
