Warning. The holes are not precisely localized. Damn.

Holes not evenly spaced. I screwed up by not testing it on a piece of wood. I used it on finished cabinets. Big mistake. None of the holes matched. I measured the distance between the holes with a micrometer. I found the cause of the problem. The 1st and the last hole of the bracket have different distances to the holes next to it. The middle 4 holes are perfect. I had to completely redo a wardrobe. Luckily I checked the holes before I made all the cabinets. Very disappointed with Kreg'sโ€ฆ

Get something better

Edit: Contacted Kreg and they sent me two spare bits for free. The new bits work much better, but the results are still not accurate enough for my working standards. I have used the Woodpecker system and am very happy with the router. The drill is made of Chinese metal and arrived bent. The bracket flexes so much when you attach it to the board that the bit won't plumb anyway. I could call Craig and ask if I could get a straight cutter, but even if it were perfectly straight I wouldn't expectโ€ฆ

The problem is drilling and tearing

Bought 2 and joined together into a longer block, easy to use, precise on both ends so no problem moving to the opposite side, had to use 2 stoppers as the first pin insert and Kreg adjustment clip (sold separately) to hold the mount. The problem is that the 5mm jig has a step drill and the edge of the jig isn't flush with the veneer to prevent tearing. Duct tape, neither slow nor fast drilling will solve the problem, I had two bits and this was done with both bits (one was a bit wobbly in theโ€ฆ

If you don't have this device, you need to buy it.

So since I have some family members who build cabinets and other things I'm used to the usual large clear acrylic fasteners and I've looked at them, otherwise many of these fasteners allow for different hole sizes to drill and much larger but in some cases 2-3 times more expensive I bought this Kreg mount as I have several other Kreg mounts and am not disappointed. What I like best is that you can fit two or more together, but the included 5mm pin for securing the template when drilling moreโ€ฆ

Good value for power and hand tools

Pretty good value for the price. The drill will not drill holes in melamine without chipping, but they are acceptable. Some are perfect, many aren't, although ultimately it won't be that noticeable. The distance between the two mounts is not the same - one is 33mm or 66mm and the other is 1 or 2 inches. I went with this one because not only is it cheaper, but if I decided to use 1/4" shelf pins I could always use a standard 1/4" bit as that's the size of the drill guides , while I would haveโ€ฆ

Works great for me with power tool parts and accessories

I'm a hobbyist and I build a cabinet for myself or friends from time to time. I have already used this lamp in several projects and am mostly satisfied with it. I've tried this before with a drill press and a large table and there was always a hole that was a little off. I've drilled large rows of holes, maybe two meters, with this template and they all look perfect.* The tool fits nicely on the edge of the piece of wood and with the index pin it stays in place fairly well. I haven't messedโ€ฆ

Works well, but there are things to consider!

This tool makes drilling stud holes fast and accurate. BUT . There are a few things not mentioned in the guide that you should consider when using it. Attaching the retaining ring to the drill is easy enough using the mold on the bottom of the jig. I did this and tightened the set screw (UK: set screw) and then did a test on a piece of scrap metal. Everything worked fine. I then proceeded to use the jig on a small cabinet I was building (1/2" thick side panels). Half way through the second side

Very happy but with a few suggestions.

It was money well spent in terms of ease of use, time saving and accurate placement of pinholes on the shelf. Today was my first day of using this device and due to its limited use I have a few suggestions. I drilled holes 6 feet long on the sides. When using a dowel pin, ensure that the dowel pin is firmly pressed into the bearing bore and is securely seated. The first few times I used the dowel pin I didn't push it all the way in so it allowed for a little play or jig movement which resultedโ€ฆ
